Ok, I guess the curiosity has bested me. I ordered both the Vegemite, and Marmite. Now, I just have to decide which way is the best way to sample them, without making it a bad experience. They should arrive in the mail soon.
Don’t forget that a little goes a long way. So, put a smidge on a piece of buttered toast. But give it time; they’re both an acquired taste. On the other hand, you might like them on first bite, as I did.

I would start with something like some toast, spread Vegemite on the toast and then some scrambled egg, personally I wouldn't add salt or pepper to the egg.

Good luck.

There are even people who collect the older Marmite Jars

The Guinness Marmite was amazing.

The cricket ball Marmite jar is now in my garage and holds what is left of some Castrol HMP grease which I bought when I was 20 years old.

And you can even buy sell a hallmarked silver lid for your marmite jar, as if you thought that the world wasn't sufficiently nuts

It tastes a lot better than it sounds. The sweet, salt and bitterness compliment each other.
Marmalade is not so common over here so its been a while since i tasted it all I remember was the taste and bitterness of rind

It depends on the marmalade. Seville Orange marmalade is very bitter; I don’t like it. My favourite marmalade is Robertson’s Ginger Marmalade; it’s not at all bitter. My wife likes Mackays Orange with Champagne Marmalade.
