I'm very pleased with my brass Karve CB "Daily Shaver" kit of handle and 3 CC baseplates. The supposedly more aggressive "D" CC plate is a pussycat, but efficient, although I did find that some soaps are harder to clear from the slots than I would expect. I then bought the "C" and "D" OC plates, and have used the "D". I didn't detect much difference in feel between the "D" OC and CC plates, as the former was as smooth as the latter, and took off a few days of whisker in next to no time (experimental stubble growing session).

For me, it's one of those razors that come along from time to time and which work well and pleasantly from the very first use.

Karve Copper in the E OC plate. Very smooth yet very effective cutting that yielded a BBS finish in an efficient 2.5 pass shave. Paired it with a Gillette Minora blade that has been a pleasant surprise showing good sharpness and a smooth feel. In all actuality, the Karve has proven to be an excellent shaver with nearly every blade I’ve installed in it. A testament to the outstanding geometry of the razor and its superb stability/rigidity and how it supports the blade. One of the best in the business.

A good Friday shave. Karve D-OC paired with a Gillette Platinum. For me, the E-SB plate is perhaps my Goldilocks Karve set up but, this here is just so, so good. Find a plate or two and just get ready for some exquisite shaves.

Took a small break from the Hone Type 15 Brass today and reached for the CB Copper with an OC-E plate paired with a Bic Chrome Platinum. It has been a while since I’ve last used the Copper Karve but, it worked just as I remembered and that is to near perfection. A tiny bit more blade feel as compared to an SB-D plate but, nearly the same ease of use with near identical smoothness. The slight increase in blade feel merely translates to a more direct feel with slightly more audible feedback. It can and will serve as an aid in letting the shaver know exactly what and how the razor is performing in effective cutting while displaying a smoothness that is up there with some of the best razors in its class. Which, by the way there aren’t many to be quite honest. Of course, that is just subjective based on my own personal experiences.

At the end of the day, Karve has produced an extraordinary line of razors in different exotic alloys that does exactly what it was intended to do. Give variety, showcase different levels of purpose and use to every individual shaver and to do it with ease & simplicity in a well engineered tool. All this at a very competitive price which I deem to be very affordable for precision, quality and world class craftsmanship.

It does have the same tapering toward the cutting edge of the blade, doesn't it?

It also looks like there are supports for the blade in a few places (maybe closer to the cutting edge than the Henson has?), as there are several lather slots, but I suppose we'll see on Friday.

The lather slots look kind of like those of the Lupo, but the way it tapers down to the blade edge is more like the Henson does it.

I wished karve would hurry up and drop a single edge. The same with tatara. I strictly shave the single edge now so DE isn’t my bag anymore. But quality / fit and finish. Always been a fan of karve when I owned the Christopher and overlander 11/10
