A great early Sunday morning shave. The CB Karve has never disappointed in delivering smooth & comfortable shaves at nearly every stage of growth regardless of the base plate used. Of course that I've used the bigger gap plates for more extensive growth but, in general depending on one's frequency of shave and stubble growth characteristics, there is a plate to satisfy nearly all from light growth that warrants a super mild feel to extremely aggressive for those that want the ultimate in cutting ability for heavy, corse and dense beards or the shaver that perhaps shaves monthly in the single digit range. Point is, the Karve has a shaver covered from A to Z with a quality shave tool with exacting tolerances. It simply works amazingly well. Except for those that can't stand the smell or feel of Brass. For everyone else, it's shave money in the bank....

Is it expensive to nickel or chrome plate it?
I'm asking because i know two enthusiasts from Serbia that have both had nickel plated their CB, Overlender and Bayonetta razors and are very pleased...
No, there were a couple of places in the UK who would do plating and the cost was very reasonable. I’ve not looked into it for a while though. I was considering going down that route and then Karve released the SS version.

a few years ago I had a brass Asylum Evolution XL with an extra base plate nickel plated. It was reasonably priced here in the U.S. by a vendor called razorplatedotcom. The raw brass smell was solved.

I also intensely dislike the smell of copper which, thinking about it, is one of the components of brass and probably the source of the problem. I'm also into torches / flashlights, and brass and copper are popular there too, just not with me. They do look nice when they're untouched though.
