Here we tend to think of Shepherds pie as lamb and cottage as beef. Lamb mince or shoulder is common - mince mainly as lamb costs a fortune here now.

I didn’t know the difference. I can count on one hand the Shepherd’s Pie and Cottage Pie I’ve encountered on restaurant menu here in the US. I’ll try my hand at it sometime soon I think. That pic of yours looks straight out of a food magazine.

They only live half an hour away so I can't really call it a holiday but the weather has been super hot so I guess it's felt like one! 🥵🥵

I really miss being able to do that with my own family-just show up with a bunch of snacks and a movie and drink coffee all day.
