What watch are you wearing today (WRUW)

Sony wanted £150 for a new sapphire glass replacement, I wear this watch more than all my other watches, so for that kind of money, I can live with the scratch.

Jamie, how on earth did you scratch a sapphire crystal? That's actually impressive!

I would look for a local watchmaker to swap it out for you, new sapphire crystal is around £30 parts + 1 hour labour (will actually only take them 20 minutes.)

Timpson will replace as well. I’d probably buy the glass and take it in to them.

Extreme sharpness is ephemeral!

The cheapest quote I could get was £95, including resealing and pressure testing. I could have got it much cheaper if I wanted a crystal mineral, but sapphire crystal costs twice the price.

If you did decide to try PolyWatch make sure you get the glass version. They do two and the other is for plastic.

That correlates, worth it to get rid of the scratch IMO but YMMV. It's recommended to get your seals checked and tested every 3 years anyway.

I could be wrong but pretty sure polywatch wont help a sapphire, even the glass version is only intended for mineral crystal. (mineral is 5.5 on the Mohs scale, sapphire is 9) hence my surprise you manged to scratch it... Well, it can only be scratched by something harder, so a diamond ring maybe?

It was because there was a star event yesterday and this weekend. Upto %70 of at some stores. My watch was £1195 (rrp was £4450) and I got a Gortex jacket from The North Face for £85!!
I only live a 10 minute walk from there so it’s easy for me
Going up on 27th March, will have to have a look around and see if they have any bargains like that.
