The soap definitely is a thirsty one. After my first experience with it when I ended up with enough lather to last me three days, I went back to my stingy man loads (load for about 15-20 seconds), and then bowl lathered and kept on adding water. I still ended up with enough for four passes, but the lather was so slick that I needed only two passes plus touch up to shave.

BTW - I tried out the Bay Rum. It was a simple Bay Rum scent, more on the sweet side. Very slight scent and not complex like the Cedar Sandalwood. This is probably one of those scents where folks have said that you get the Vreto for it's performance and not it's scent.

My experience was kind of funny: I am an evening shaver and like to palm lather a little soap when trying a new product. I like to do that with two purposes: learn about the product (including a water retention test) and see how my skin reacts to it.
When I came home I loaded just a bit and I palm lathered. The lather looked so good I didn't finish the water retention test and just shaved a little earlier than normal. Great soap!

In preparation for the next group buy (hopefully), which scents are your creations and which are bought? I really like how that Cedar Sandalwood keeps changing during the shaving/lathering process.

Received mine yesterday. Lathered up C&C straight away and was immediately taken to Bogart Signature, similar to Quorum, Polo Green etc. Dry, ultramasculine. Looking forward to lathering up lavender too. Thanks @Goran.v!

Credit where credit is due, there are a few artisans in the US who know what they’re doing, but the prices are incomparable.. add postage and potentially customs, and you’re looking at $40ish/puck.

I used Opium for my last shave. Used a bowl so I could experiment and play with the lather. Much better quality lather, very good consistency and slickness.
