Randy it got diagnosed well in time so relax and take it easy. Don't think about what could have happened.

I know it is not going to help in anyway but there are times when I fly, especially through south east asia the air pocket turbulence can really be so bad that i see passengers around me start crying, asking forgiveness to some family members or invoke god (forgetting that invoked or not, God is). I don't know but I involuntarily start to laugh and it is a last thought on my mind that I am going to die. Everything ends well, of course. So hang in there.

George, I’m glad for you brother. Maybe you don't know, but you survived something more dangerous and lethal than Covid. This thing you had (perforated appendicitis) causes in over 95% of the cases peritonitis and only a few people can survive after 72 hours period. I have a good knowledge and personal experience with this. It is associated with high temperature (fever), abdominal pain and an increased number of white blood cells (leucocytes) – the 3 major symptoms for appendicitis every experienced doctor should recognize immediately.

Good thing you went thru surgery quickly. Now take care of yourself in the recovery period (easy with everything in life , a lot of rest, no lifting of heavy objects, etc.). I’m sure you don’t have Covid and that you’ll see the negative results tomorrow.

I will pray for your speedy recovery and good health afterwards.

Wow, that's frightening! Feeling even more thankful that they caught it. Rest well George, my brother in slickness! (That could be taken the wrong way)

I'm still in pain, into the hospital but so scared. Thank you so much. Is it possible to happen anything wrong from now on?
Because they asked for a colonoscopy in a month or so, to see what this soft maze was in the blind bowel.

They believe that was a system's reaction to take care the inflammation that's why even the appendix was finally broken I never had severe pain or vomiting. But I am worried anyways.

I am 35, non smoker ni alcohol and none of my parents had anything wrong in the bowel. I'm just too scared.

So, do you think everything will be ok from now on, even if I'm in an empty room and hear the sound of coughing from the other rooms?

I can't see my daughter, my wife.. I have now 37 Celsius while the whole day had 36.7.

I'm not feeling very bad, just anxious, hot and my belly hurts. Not possible to go to the bathroom easily. I'm afraid of catching could here as well, so my mask is on, always.

It’s difficult to find something to say that will reassure you. But you are normally fit and health it would seem, so that’s a positive, the doctors are on your case and I’m sure taking all the precautions and actions they need to. Don’t forget they will always test and make sure you're Ok. Tell us what are the Greek nurses like, lol ? What’s the food like in Greek hospitals ? What have you been doing in the meat time, reading ? I’d have a few books and music via headphones.

I know it's hard George but from someone who also worries a lot, worrying about something you don't yet know is never helpful. You can only deal with facts. Most of the time what you're worried about turns out to be nothing like you thought. The best thing you can do is try to relax and let them take care of you, look at the facts you actually have and be positive.

I fell lonely TBH, they don't visit me very often. I hurt from the cut, looks like a big one. I have a general fear about everything now and make bad thoughts.

I haven't eaten anything, just some tea and a little of water from my bottle. Then the mask is on again. It's dark here, lonely and my anxiety increases. The test is not yet available so they can transfer me to the other building opposite, I'm in the one with suspicious cases.

I just want to go home and rest..

You need to try and start eating, you have had an op and need to build yourself back up, sooner you get on the mend the sooner you’ll get out of that place. Have you told any one there how anxious you are ? They should be able to help and reassure you. I d9nt like the thought of being in hospital personally so I’d be doing what ever I could to get out of the place. Trouble for me is I’d probably know the staff at our local hospital or they would know my wife, I’d rather they were strangers. Not a lot us here can do but I’m always willing to chat with you here or you can send me PM’s.

Really don’t worry about where they cut you open, I’ve had a couple of minor surgery’, healed up nicely and barely visible. They will monitor them and it’s so very rare these days you get complications from scars. You’ll be fine I’m sure. Come on tell all about these nurses ? HOT or NOT ?

Probably nothing serious to worry about. Like doctors say, reaction and result from your appendicitis. You are too young and don’t have any genetic/family predisposition to have something in the large intestine/colon. The procedure doctors are asking for, colonoscopy, takes usually 45 sec. to 1 minute actual time (in and out), in case there are no findings. Everything is recorded and if something suspicious appears they may spend another minute or so. However, prep time is between 15 and 30 minutes before that and it is done with full anesthesia. You won’t feel anything, just little dizzy afterwards.

Now try to relax my friend, you went over it with flying colors. Get some rest and good sleep and start looking things on the bright side of life.

I feel your angst and psychological pain. I was in hospital in early June to have my prostate removed and I was very anxious. Fortunately the hospital was clear of the virus and had never admitted a patient with the virus. However, it was very unsettling as patients weren’t allowed visitors and my wife could not come into the hospital with me prior to or after surgery. Not having someone to talk to at such a critical time raised my stress level exponentially. Needless to say, I was hugely relieved when I was discharged and able to relax at home. Good luck and try to accentuate the positive.

I was slightly concerned over a general anaesthetic when I had my knee op, but it was fine. Can’t remember anything after 10,9,8.......woke up Thinking where the hell am I but soon sat up feeling fine. The nurse assigned to me stuck her head around the corner was was amazed how well and bright I looked. Cup of tea and the best toast EVER and I was soon off (day surgery). Was hard getting in and out the car but once home I was settled and spoilt.

Thanks guys. I feel weak, I'm thinking about the bowel, I think I may have COVID, many thoughts come in mind. I'm not a bright guy, never was.

I make my wife more anxious on the phone. I want my home, to rest there and know that everything is gonna be alright.
