And the last few pages are exactly the reason I asked for the conversation to stay away from religion. My point thus made, now's the time to move onto a different subject.

Spirited discussion is one thing but personal attacks will not be tolerated so I’d advise everyone to think before posting.

It would be a shame if I have to lock the thread that encouraged me to fix my own toilet.

Skippy was dead over 45 years ago.
Between 9 and 15 kangaroos were used for each show. The apparent manual dexterity was often achieved by using separate arms in the hands of human operators. Skippy's trademark "tchk tchk tchk" noise was entirely fictional. Kangaroos make no such sounds, but some sort of sound was needed for the series, and someone came up with the idea of clicking tongues to make the sound. To this day, many people believe that kangaroos make "tchk tchk" noises.[5][6] To make Skippy move her mouth, supposedly creating the vocalisations, production staff gave the kangaroos chocolate, chewing gum, or grass, and in some cases, an elastic band around the lower jaw.

In a similar vein, no owl goes "twit twoo". Tawny owls make two noises "kewick" and "ooooo", if you hear something that sounds like "twit twoo" it's two owls, one going "kewick" and the other answering "ooooo". Barn owls on the other hand make a godawful screech.

The only highest pitch sharp screeching sound I hate, is the bloody insect cricket when I have to turn-off my $10k AUD cochlear hearing aid, because, I can hear them miles away during spring and summer at night.

On a trip to OZ we were treated to the sound of their cicadas. The volume of the sound was horrific and no escaping it indoors either. I am sure at the decibel level they are capable of that hearing protection would be recommended in an industrial setting.

I get heaps of cricket around cities and suburbs, but, cicadas are mainly out in the bush or forest, they can reach into suburbs.
