Mine arrived after 5 days with customs -who did not even open it up-they obviously canot read russian-so lucky escape for me for a change-just shaved-with the 0.90 oc- with a brand new feather blade in it--very efficient- a tad more so- than the timeless ti 0.95 oc- to my liking-so might go and try out the 0.90 cc with a new souplex- next shave tomorrow- and i think it will a perfect match for my needs-as maybe the 5 days of growth- was too much- in the one pass- even for the oc plate!!!! almost no need for a second pass- did a second pass atg -and not much left to remove at all-if anything-such is the efficiency of this bad boy -and that was after 5 days of growth!!very comfortable shave almost no blade feel at all-no cutting noises- so the head must be doing its job- of keeping the blade- precisely where it is meant to be -for a $75 razor-(if bought on its own without plates-) definitely gets my best buy -in affordable- yet superbly efficient razors -and it is a proper machined one -not a sintered or injection moulded one at that-looking forward to testing out all of the other 3 base plates over the next few days-applied some balm -and then some edt- and face feel is excellent- and superb very clean shave-one delighted customer

Last night I did a side by side of the Start 1.18 vs. 2nd Gen Charcoal Goods level 2 on 48 hours growth.
Pre-shave Hot shower
Soap MDC Argumes
Blade Polsilver
Brush Elite manchurian
First pass WTG. Both razors were extremely smooth, the CG has a larger angle window then the Start but once you dial in the Start it is very smooth and efficient. The Start side took down more growth than the CG.
2nd Pass XTG . Both razors easily slid across my face and both were very maneuverable around the mouth and Adams apple, rinse, I was near BBS with the Start side( Jawline still needed a touchup) and DFS on the CG side( still need a 3rd pass on the neck and Jawline and upper lip)
3rd Pass ATG For the Start I only did under the jawline and did upper lip both sides. The CG i did a full ATG on its side.
End result was a BBS shave on both sides without much sting from the ALUM except my neck where I did a full ATG pass with the CG.
For me I would say the Start was as Smooth as my 2nd gen CG level 2 but has a definite nod in efficiency. Both are great razors, I prefer my Stars & Stripes handle from CG but I just put a little Alum on my fingers and have no problem with the Start handle slipping.
This morning both sides are near BBS 12 hours later, slightly more growth on jawline on the CG side.

I wanted to put the Start up against the smoothest razor in my den, the RS10 Ti.
Preshave- Hot shower & Castle & Forbes pre-shave
Soap - Castle & Forbes lavender
Brush- Carnavis & Richardson B3
Thayer lavender and Castle & Forbes lavender balm to end the shave.
I used a 2 use Persona Red in the Start .90 Sb vs RS10 Ti aggr plate
First pass WTG. The RS10 is significantly lighter and was a little smoother WTG, minimal blade feel with either razor but they both took down the majority of my 24 hour growth.
Second pass XTG. Again the RS10 was just a touch smoother. Cold water rinse and the RS10 side was only in need of a touchup under the jawline and the upper lip, the Start side needed more on my neck plus upper lip and jawline.
Third pass ATG. I was really enjoying the shave so I did a full lather and did a complete ATG pass. Both razors handled it very smoothly with a slight nod to the RS10.
I got a wife tested BBS shave with both razors, no irritation at all. I would say the RS10 is still the smoothest razor in my collection, the Start( especially based on cost) did very well but was slightly less efficient and not as smooth as the RS10.

The 1.18 gap is my preferred gap for this razor. It reminds me of the Timeless .95 SB which is one of my favorites. However I would have liked it to be a tad bit more efficient despite losing some of it’s smoothness. I was really in want of a razor that is similar to the Charcoal Goods level 3. Maybe the adjustable model they’ll release will alleviate that itch.

Have you tried the Nodachi? For me that’s what you’re describing

Yes, I have that one and it is a nice razor having shaved with it a few times. Although it was a significant improvement over the Masamune, I would place it similar to a Gamechanger .84 and Muhle Rocca. Haven’t found it to be as efficient as the CG lvl 3, nor as smooth as the Homelike 1.18. Maybe a different blade will help. I’ll try the Nodachi again today with a different blade today.

Personna Med?

Received this in the mail today from a company in Russia. They contacted me over a year ago and said they were finalising the design
Looks lovely. All stainless steel, with 4 different plates for aggressive levels and an open comb plate too. I'll shave with it tomorrow. I think they sold out of these in Russia first but now the next batch they've produced are for the rest of the world market.
