Pass Around Guerrilla by Wolfman Razors

Second and last shave with the Guerrilla today.
My usual uber-lather, proraso pre, white cream and white soap+ 4 drops of glycerin.
HoneyFarDesign 3band silvertip,
Feather blade.

I received permission from Paul to use a shim with the razor as first shave was pretty mild for me.
The resulting shave was BBS in 3 passes and corrections with no irritation. I wish though I could have used more shims. The way the head secures the blade in between makes it impossible to align more than one shim as the circular posts are not long enough to accommodate more shims.
The Guerrilla never ceases to amaze me with its smoothness and I wish all my other razors were as smooth.
As I have aready said in my first review, the level of workmanship and finish is astonishing.
Thank you, Paul for letting me try this wonderful razor.
It's has already been sanitized, wiped and ready to be packaged to be sent to shavepm on Monday.

Razor made it's way to me last Thursday and I've only had a chance to use it once so far. I'll have a few more shaves with it, but here are my initial impressions:

Design:
Razor is medium weight/light.
Good looking, great workmanship and detail was put into the razor.
Had a little trouble getting the blade in, not a huge fan of how the head fits together

Shave with feather blade, B&M Figgy Pudding, omega boar brush, proraso aftershave:
A little rough, more rough than the Bronze Timeless. (But the Bronze Timeless is smooooth.)
Shave was pretty efficient. Ended with a 2.5 passes and wife liked the smoothness of the shave, but it left my face a little irritated and gave me a few knicks.
I enjoyed it, not enough to be interested in buying it. Looking forward to trying other blades in it, aiming for an Astra tomorrow morning.

Side note: I tried the one of the Derby Premium blades in my Bronze Timeless. I was going to compare that blade between the Timeless and Wolfman, but I have no desire to shave with it again. Not a fan of derby in the past, not a fan of them now :/

I've been able to get a few more shaves with the razor. Overall impression still stands that it has solid craftsmanship, albeit a somewhat troublesome screw on. It has not been my favorite razor, but I have enjoyed it.

Shaves
Rapira blade, Whickham Shamrock Tweed soap & aftershave:
-The best shave of this razor. Two passes shaved off 4 days of growth like a beauty. Did not think I would get a shave like this out of the razor. Never got another like it though. This with the Shamrock Tweed after shave was just a golden combo. Made for a great start to my day.

Rapria blade 2, Whickham Shamrock Tweed soap & aftershave:
-Worst shave of this razor. Shaved the day after the last rapira shave and did 2 passes. The shave left me with some razor burn/irritation. Shave did not leave my face as smooth as the first time either. I would not want this shave again.

Astra, Wholly Kaw Vertivertal, Proraso white aftershave:
-Smooth as butter feeling, but not a smooth face. The 2 passes were pretty mild and less efficient than I would like. Wife could tell I wasn't as smooth as I should be. The shaved worked and left my face feeling good, but left me wanting more efficiency.

Weird asian blade, WK Vertivertal, Proraso white aftershave:
-Meh. Nothing to stay. My face was a little irritated by a somewhat mild 2 pass shave. Not the shave for me.

Currently waiting for the address of @Britva to send the razor. Excited to hear other's responses.

There’s been a change in my circumstances and I won’t be back to Germany before Dec 10th. Unless @Paul is OK with the razor staying with @Shavepm until then, or if perhaps someone else wants to jump in until I return, I think it’s best I back out of this pass-around. I’m currently not within the EU (customs may be a pain), so don’t want to risk it. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Folks. Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you, chemotherapy has been a bitch this week!
So back to the Razor, The Guerrilla by Wolfman.


On opening the parcel, the first thing that strikes you is that handle..Dam is it big :highfive:
But sadly it is a very light handle because it is tubing.
Yet it feels so snug in the hand, not like other thin handled razors. The construction is solid and well made, whilst the lines or aesthetics of the Guerilla are simplistic and a little plain.
As I am spending more days in hospital these days and received my ATG secret :santa: present. Many thanks to whoever sent it :bravo::rolleyes:
I said what the hell and used a soap from it called "Velvet" by Smooth Operator, a Greek soap maker I found on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/398392797/smooth-operator-shaving-soap-with-tallow This soap is a sweet and lightly floral fragrance with a woody incense-like quality and powdery finish.
A tallow soap with Shea Butter, Cocoa butter and Tussah Silk produces a rich, creamy, moisturising lather
So a new razor and an untried soap, what could go wrong:hyper:
Prepared for my shave I have a weeks growth of stubble, the soap lathered up beautifully, rich and thick. That's the soap not me :)
I used one of my own Gillette platinum and began.
WTG: Man oh man is this a razor:happy: effortlessly it sleigh all before it:D. It is so easy to use and so mild.
Lathering up again, I gotta say I really like this tallow soap, smells great and all the cushion and slickness in the world.
ATG: Again lathered up well and now the razor, Dam this thing is as smooth atg as wtg.
In just two passes I was done!
This is a lovely razor, which is effortlessly easy to use, well built and light but it costs over $225!
And sadly therein lays the problem for me!
That is a very large amount for a razor, for me. If I was asked to choose between this and my Colonial "General". The "General" would win every time.

Personally I prefer that the handle's hollow, I have a UFO the same size but it’s solid and I don’t use it because it’s too heavy.
