Blackland Vector SE razor (AC type)

The Vector arrived safe and sound. I've had a few shaves now using a Proline blade and can only describe the experience as flawless. I'm finding this razor and blade combination incredibly smooth and not aggressive at all which is how I like my shaves. My only other SE razor is an ATT SE1 aluminum and I'm definitely finding the Vector much smoother to shave with, the small head also makes it much easier shaving around my nose.

Only disappointing thing I've found is that the underside of the cap has a couple of quite large scratches on it which are visibly noticeable. Thankfully they're on the underside so i'm just going to live with it becuase I don't fancy potentially having to send the razor back to Maggards from the UK.

Could you post a picture of said scratches?

My pictures aren't the best but hopefully you can make it out. The rest of the razor is fine and again I'm happy to live with it given I'd rather not have to send it back to the US from here. Overall I'm still more than happy with the purchase given how good the shave experience is with the razor.

I have similar scratches in mine as well - probably just machining marks. As in your case they're on the cap underside so I didn't even mention it to Shane (did the purchase from Blackland directly).

I'm not sure you can tell from my pictures but I think these are actual scratches rather than tooling marks. The blade post on the other end of my top cap has a lighter mark along side it which I would call a tooling mark but the scratches are much more noticeable.

I'd check with Maggards that it's not a returned item. They do not look like machining marks. They look like someone has used a metal item to remove the blade. The blades are very precisely positioned on the Vector head (read tight)

The blades on mine slip on and off really easily so can't imagine someone needing to use something to remove them. It is what it is, i might send Maggard's an e-mail just to ask them.

Hey hi Mate, what a razor, I'm also thinking of ordering the Vector, I'm also based in the UK, will you mind if I ask you how much it cost total getting it shipped to the UK.
Thank you and much appreciated.

~£200 if you escape Customs or ~£240 if it's caught by them

It cost around £180 including shipping from Maggards and as Boycie said that's assuming you don't get hit with customs charges.

Had a good few shaves with the razor now and my thoughts haven't changed, it's brilliant and with the proline blades my perfect shaver. I've even used it on my head which I haven't done with any other SE or DE razor and again I didn't get a single nick or bit of irritation.

Also got to give a special mention to Shane at Blackland who contacted me about the top cap issue and has arranged for a replacement to be sent out. Got to say that's fantastic customer service especially as I didn't buy the razor directly from them. It's easy to see why Blackland and their razors have got such a good reputation.
