I am curious as to whether you found the .7 and the 1.1 to be very blade forward? I tested the .7, 1.1 and the 1.5 and found that all 3 gave me a great shave but with considerable blade feel. Perhaps if I had more time to test them, I would have been able to figure it out.After nine shaves I can state that if I had a spare €485 I would be buying a 0.7 plate on copper - without a doubt.
I don’t normally like razors this heavy but as most of the weight is in the handle it still feels nimble. The head has been designed / machined to be as slimmed down as possible, again pushing the centre of gravity into the handle (I wonder if a hollow handle is possible?), showing that design takes president over ease of machining (hence the price).
I love the cone stand idea- avoids scratches on the handle and makes it easy to use.
I found the 1.1 useable but I could get just as good a shave with the 0.7 so why something less comfortable? The 0.3 was too mild and every after a 4 pass shave I had stubble within a few hours and I didn’t even bother with the 1.5 plate. The 0.7 just did everything I ever want in a razor- comfortable, very close shaves and it felt very special using it (and not because it’s expensive (I didn’t cost it up until after I’d decided I loved it)). As you would expect at the price it slots together with elegant precision and the machine finish is pleasingly refined (there has been some discussion on this at DFS but this razor has the basic polish so the head clearly shows the machining pattern but it cannot be felt) and I’d be perfectly happy with this as there are no machining errors (like tool chatter)
I think it’s fair to say I was bowled over by this razor (as I have been by their previous razors) but such design purity clearly doesn’t come cheap.

Yes, I found them to have blade feel, which is something I like so was a positive for me but appreciate not everyone will agree. I don’t remember the 0.3 having much but only used it once and, again, that might have been true only in comparison.

Quick update, I'm 3 shaves in and going well. With my penchant for the more efficient I started off with the 1.5.
All was going well on the first pass, switched to the ATG pass and things started to go slightly awry. Caught myself a couple of times and the blade feel was a bit much and didn't feel smooth. I'm sure with a bit of time it would be fine, but nah I moved on to the 1.1 (though I may revisit before the end).
Much much better, still plenty of feel but exceptionally smooth with a long lasting finish. I suspect this will be the goldilocks gap for me. I gave it one more go this morning to be sure.
Excellent, I'm pretty sure this would be the one for me. I'm going to drop down to the 0.7 tomorrow just to be sure. I'll probably skip the 0.3 altogether as I'm almost certain that will be too mild for my tastes. Then I'll probably hop back up briefly and may give it a try with the Vestige handle to see how it plays with the weight.

I had the same experience as you with regard to the 1.5. The shave lasted quite a while but the discomfort of the shave wasn't worth it. Ironically, I found the .7 and the 1.1 to be pretty close in shave experience and in length of shave. There is no doubt that it is a quality razor, it is just getting used to the geometry of it.

Went for the 0.7 gap again, there's really not much to say, though I think I would lean towards the 1.1. A very comfortable shave with a long lasting finish. I gave the 0.7 one more try.

This was a weird one, I popped the Vestige head on the No. 7 handle, just for giggles. I did not like that though, the balance just felt off, switched out midway with the 1.1 head. Went back to the 1.5 on the next one, just to be sure.

Final shave this morning with the 1.1. I said it before but this one seems to be the goldilocks gap for me. I agree @cigarman the 0.7 seems to give just as good a finish with very little difference in feel.
I had initially been keeping cash aside for the new Sabre, but with the handle design on that one I may very well take the plunge with this.
It's now boxed up and slated to be picked up tomorrow.

First shave with the No 7. A beautifully put together razor. Very nice to hold. Very light for a stainless. Thread on topcap is lovely and screwed together with no issues. No blade overhang which I love. Surprising amount of blade reveal with a 0.3 gap. This is the mildest of the baseplates with a further 0.7, 1.1 and 1.5 gap baseplates in the passaround set.
The shave was lovely however a lot of pressure was needed ATG to get the result I wanted. Really nice on my trouble areas on my neck. No nicks and a smooth finish was achieved. I think the 0.7 gap baseplate which I will try next will be my favoured baseplate.
I think I'm going to want to get me one of these.

The 1.1 is another step up from the 0.7. Definitely felt the more aggressive nature of this baseplate. More blade feel for me. Post shave I have some irritation. I think I prefer the 0.7 baseplate.
One more try with the 0.7 and I will send it off to the next participant.

I think this razor is in my top 3. I have ordered the 0.5 gap for myself. The 0.3 was excellent atg on my problem areas but not efficient enough to get close but the 0.7 is easily enough. So hoping the 0.5 will be the sweet spot for me.
The fit and finish is superb. Similar to wolfman it's a lottery finding the right gap. Luckily I was able to try various baseplate options in this passaround.

This is definitely my favourite razor I have tried in a passaround.

If you like the Blackbird lite and the Masamune then I’d suggest 0.5 is the right plate for you. I liked the 0.7 and prefer the Blackbird and NodachiHi Cheekee
