A definition by Erica Lenti, or other political activists who wish to bastardize the English language, holds very little water with me. Please refer to the actual definition of phobia from the Diagnosis and Statistical Manual. Yes, words do indeed have meaning (or, at least, they did until activists began their war on words.) I respectfully suggest that you desist in your offensive suggestions that individuals in this forum are afflicted with any type of phobia.

Actually the definition was lifted verbatim from Merriam Webster. The Oxford and Collins dictionaries say the same thing, as does Dictionary.com.

I respectfully suggest that you familiarise yourself with such publications before going on the offensive. If you do, you'll observe that many words have more than one accepted definition. While you're at it, have a look at site rules 2, 19 and 20.

Are we not allowed to poke fun of minorities, is there a new law I don't know about?
I could understand it if the jokes are racist, homophobic, or about disabled people but they're not.
They are about a minority group who I'm sure can laugh at themselves, as they do about straight people and the people who are offended on their behalf.

It is not a new law, but an old one, "treat others as you would want them to treat you".

My last word on this.
That is where I am different, if I offend someone I will ask them why I have, then I will decide if I need to change my outlook or, if they should question theirs.
We live in a world that immediately takes offence to anyone voicing an opinion that is different to their own.
I would never attack people who see things differently and disagree with me, and they, should not attack me either.

I am sorry and all that but I have to say this. What is a joke without a victim? From the early days of comedy there has to be a victim, whether it is Stan Laurel getting slapped by Ollie or Vic reeves hitting Bob with a pan, An Englishman, Irishman and Scotts Man, A Canadian taking the P out of a New Foundlander or an American taking it out of a Redneck. Gingers, Ethincs, whatever, in order for it to be funny someone had to have it ripped out of them. It works all ways. It is the very foundation of Comedy, Wife's, Girlfriends, Mother in laws, Brothers, Sisters, Aunties, Dogs, Cats, Budgies evereyone gets the treatment and that includes Men who think they are Women, Women who think they are Men and Fish that think they are Pigeons. Comedy and the ability to laugh at each other makes the World go round and if you can't be laughed at as we all are from time to time then live in a dark room and don't come out of it.
