Even though the quality of the recently delivered components is poor, I managed to choose parts of the razor which, once assembled, met all dimensional requirements. Only one side of the head was correct, but still, better than nothing.
I spent a lot of time verifying whether the blade exposure, spans, etc., were correct, so I’m quite certain that this setup reflects the characteristics we shall expect from the final product.
I gave it a shot and shaved with it today after 4 days of growth. The baseplate I used was the mild one, which is equivalent to the T8 from testing (0.00 mm blade exposure).
From the very beginning, my biggest concern was that metal razors would shave differently than the 3D printed ones. And I was right - they shave differently.
Just forget about the 3D printed samples, it’s a different world. The level of smoothness is incredible, and I’ve never used anything like it. It just glides, and there is no hair pulling at all (4 days of growth, neutral blade exposure). On top of that, the rounded cap feels perfect.
Even though I am not a fan of neutral blade exposure, that shave was definitely the best I ever had. It made my day, and I’m still incredibly excited.
During the testing phase, many of you mentioned that a few first strokes used to be rough, but it didn't last long. I am glad to inform you that this is now completely gone, and the smoothness is there from the very first stroke.
The razor is incredibly safe, and the confidence level is just massive.
Efficiency-wise, it can take all the growth in one stroke but delivers only DFS. This is understandable since I used the mild variant.
I am not good at writing reviews like others on the forum, so I will not even try to do it. But the shave gave me a huge amount of confidence, and now I am certain it will be a great product.
