I think that pricing is a mistake. We've got several artisans stepping up massively now. Why buy this at nearly thirty bucks when you get a Zingari Man Sego, Ariana or Milksteak for less?

And don't forget king Chris; Not the best slickness I have ever experienced.

Southern is way slicker.

Honestly Randy, Southern is as slick as any of the top bases I've used (I can't speak to Milksteak or Siero yet) and it's a vegan soap! They are killing it, good prices too. New Wholly Kaw has to be the best of the best to justify these prices.

I agree. The question Chris is this: Could be the best of the best? 20$ the Milksteak is a reasonable price. You can always get the unscented or the Trismegistus for 16$ and 18$. Very nice.. This is the soap I will get.

27.40€ the Fougere Siero without the shipping. It will need a small fortune to get it. For a 100gr of soap? 100? Not even 200?

Yep, and even Barrister who have a nearly top level base in Excelsior charge much less except for some of the seasonals. Very tough pricing here, and that price for unscented is ridiculous. We're paying for hype.

I couldn't agree more. I have the Seville in Excelsior for 16$. Top notch soap. There are more expensive too, but customer can choose. Hype Train?? Choo choo!!

APR charges a lot too and his soaps aren't that great, but you're paying for the extra expensive perfume ingredients he uses I guess. Oh well, I think Sri will get a surprise and maybe adjust prices. I hope so. I haven't loved any of his scents though so needs more than just a good base.

Do you read my mind?! I believe exactly the same for APR.

Sri won't do anything about the prices. He just raises them whenever he releases a new base. Scents definitely are weird. My wife thinks that Merchant of Tobacco smells terrible. And I have only the sample.

I had Merchant and to me it smelled like chocolate! I didn't get any tobacco from it. It was a good soap but it reminds me of Grooming Dept. Great base but I have never liked any of the scents, so it feels pointless to use it.

What a time we're living in though! New best soap every other week.

Definitely straight chocolate but in a bad way. I agree it is a good base but not for this price. Also, it is water sensitive. If you add more water it falls apart.
To be clear, I believe that the best US soaps are A&E, B&M, Southern and DG. Stirling is fair priced and no gimmicks with changes of the base.

And if @Rowlers ,all of them stopped putting so many essential oils alltogether then I may liked one of their scents.

I can agree! I didn't get to use DG much because I reacted to two of the three Icarus base soaps I had, plus they all smelled like a bull's ballsack which didn't help.

Stirling must be the best price to performance ratio soap. Not the very best, but very good and affordable and loads of scents to choose from.

Yes, and mild, INOFFENSIVE scents. I don't like the Taum Sauk I have either, too much animal smell. Slickness, lather, face feel, top notch though.

Now I'm waiting the Sandalwood from SW.

I'll be interested to see what you think of the Sandalwood. I have not tried their single note scents but am curious. I think my Druantia soap from them arrives tomorrow along with Milksteak!
