Ah, sorry, I indeed see you did say ‘about the same’. Didn’t mean to come across as mr knowitallwhodidntproperlyread... FWIW, I notice differences between at least a few of the GD bases I’ve tried. Wasn’t too keen on the vegan and one specific tallow base; one too light in cushion, one too dense. But Mo keeps on changing and adding bases more frequently than some people change underwear, so...
It's all good brother Shaver. You are right Mo changes bases alot, slight differences is a good way to describe them, from my experience also.

Had my second shave with Bare Siero this morning. I decided to do things a bit differently this time. Last time I felt like I could have hydrated the lather even more, so this time I made sure I loaded the brush for exactly 30 seconds (to avoid overloading). This soap base can take water like there's no tomorrow. I believe I added water at least 8-10 times while building the lather on my face and the soap still didn't show any signs of overhydration.

I don't think I noticed any improvement in residual slickness this time though, but that isn't a problem since the residual slickness is already excellent in my opinion. What still amazes me is how voluminous the lather gets if you really work it and that after loading the brush for only 30 seconds.

Overall, I think it's pretty much a tie for me between WK Siero and DG Milksteak. Both are in my top 3 (third spot) while my two favourites remain BaM Excelsior and the current A&E base.

Do you know what I assume from this post? That there is no need to get the Siero, because it seems overpriced even with this level of post shave feel.

I will get the Milksteak and that's all.
Sri must control the price of his soaps. 20$ would be OK.

I can’t say I blame you. I think if I had a choice now I’d do the same. Milksteak is superb across all metrics.

Understandable. I have no regrets though. Very nice soap base and finally another artisan that matches the jar build quality of Barrister and Mann jars. But I also think he's asking too much especially since other elite artisan soaps are quite a bit cheaper in general. Sri recently did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on reddit and someone mentioned the price of Siero being an obstacle. Sri basically said he was trying to come up with a solution for that.

Three shaves in with Bare Siero and my impressions so far is that this, of course, is a marvellous performer. I love the previous (tallow) soap bases from WK, so this is no surprise. Very dense lather, great slickness (there are slicker soaps out there) and the post shave is off the charts. I prefer Siero over Milksteak any day.

and the smell of the unscented?

Well that’s enough to stop me ordering it. Thank you!
I guess I can’t blame you! That said, the performance makes up for it. I get absolutely loads of animal funk off the Pura you sent me but it does disappear once I’m going. I leave the tub open for a bit.

Did you say animal smell? I can't stand my Icarus Taum Sauk as well.

Smells like bull's balls. EVERYTIME.

I just don't get the fact that for this price point there are slicker soaps out there. Southern Witchcrafts or B&M Excelsior are some examples. At least from the Donkey Milk formula that I had tried.
The post shave though, is second to none. I just don't care about it very much. I have a tons of moisturizers. My wife has one and only face cream and one face scrub and I have 20 or more balms/gels/face creams.
