My favourite of all the watches posted here and what a glorious example!View attachment 177766
Father’s watch today - since it’s a manual, the internal spring only seems to keep it going about a day or so then I have to remember to wind it.
Nice choice in watches and shoes.Loake Chesters
When I inherited it, the mainspring was shot, so I sent it off to Omega for repair. They also replaced the radioactive luminous face and hands. Didn’t realise it until it came back, that there’s a very small Omega logo imprinted into the centre of the lens. Unfortunately it’s not made of glass and I don’t believe the watch is waterproof. My favourite of all the watches posted here and what a glorious example!
Wow, great to know. My own Air Ministry above is a modern homage to the Omega/Longines/Jaeger Le Coultre model 6B/159 contracted by the War Department for the RAF. But to have an original like yours with family history….priceless.When I inherited it, the mainspring was shot, so I sent it off to Omega for repair.
