Father’s watch today - since it’s a manual, the internal spring only seems to keep it going about a day or so then I have to remember to wind it.

My favourite of all the watches posted here and what a glorious example!

The above was yesterday. Smiths Air Ministry on Darlena chestnut brown strap which matches my Cheaney half brogues.

The same watch today showing off its heat blued hands and this time on a tan pig skin strap which matches my Loake Chesters.

When I inherited it, the mainspring was shot, so I sent it off to Omega for repair. They also replaced the radioactive luminous face and hands. Didn’t realise it until it came back, that there’s a very small Omega logo imprinted into the centre of the lens. Unfortunately it’s not made of glass and I don’t believe the watch is waterproof.

Wow, great to know. My own Air Ministry above is a modern homage to the Omega/Longines/Jaeger Le Coultre model 6B/159 contracted by the War Department for the RAF. But to have an original like yours with family history….priceless.
