What made your day a crap one?

The rain gauge on the clothesline registered just above 5" from yesterday's rain fall. Where I live is an older neighborhood with lots of constructed water sheds and drainage, but some roads and areas are isolated due to the water. Not really "crap day" because rain is good.

Plantar fasciitis. I’ve had this before so I know that in a few days I’ll be back to normal, but it’s not fun at the moment. I don’t even know how I’ve done it.
Last time I had it I went to a podiatrist. She injected the tendon with a steroid to reduce the inflammation. I purchased inexpensive plantar fasciitis inserts and wore them long after the pain subsided. I injured the tendon while attaching a bush hog to the tractor by kicking the crossbar wearing tennis shoes. I also stopped kicking things and wearing inappropriate shoes.

I suspect that the culprit may have been going up the yard the other day to look at the newly-installed poles while wearing my slippers, instead of putting actual shoes on.

Ahh, one of my many defects plantar fasciitis.. years ago a podiatrist sold me a boot that immobilized the foot and ankle, preventing it from relaxing and flopping forward during sleep. That motion (as it was explained to me) causes the tendon to become flaccid and “shrink” which in turn causes the pain and inflammation when the biomechanics are engaged during wakeful activity such as walking. The boot helped a bit but was a pita when waking up in the middle of the night to use the toilet. I’ve since learned that simple stretching of the tendon works a charm and am now rarely bothered by the discomfort.
