I bought two new pair of Hoka sneakers on April 27. Today is May 5. I wore the gray pair today for only the second time. Went to the park with my granddaughter this afternoon. If my shoe was an automobile tire, I’d have picked up a flat for sure! I needed a pair of pliers to remove the offending piece of twig. While only somewhat sympathetic to my frustration over my dumb luck, and rightfully so, neither the retail store nor the manufacturer is willing to do anything more than 10% off another pair. I’m thinking of bringing the shoe to a tire fixit shop and ask if they can put a plug in it. If that doesn’t work maybe some flexible sealant from the hardware store would be an alternative. If that doesn’t work I’m out a bundle.

Unless I'm missing something fundamental, which is possible not knowing anything about Hoka, why would the manufacturer or the shop be responsible for you standing on a spiky thing?

Because last time my phone fell on the floor and the screen broke.

I sued the manufacturer of the floor for being under my cellphone.

He agreed to buy me eternally artisan shaving soaps.

I didn’t say either was responsible, Chris. In fact, owning up to my dumb luck was the first thing I said to each when they came to the phone. I was essentially asking if either entity had a deeper than 10% fool’s discount for idiots like me. Hence the “While only somewhat sympathetic to my frustration over my dumb luck, and rightfully so, neither the retail store nor the manufacturer is willing to do anything more than 10% off another pair.”
