The trouble with advice on insurance and insurance claims is that the rules and application of those rules varies greatly depending on where you live.

That sentence has greater application than I thought.

There is a principle of Uberrima fides or utmost good faith, meaning, in summary, that what you do must be honest and honourable, this is a principle of UK insurance law and although it still applies in one small area only to the Americas it is different to the UK, the Americas applies the doctrine to marine insurance only and your Courts have moved away from utmost good faith in favor of broad consumer protection laws for other general insurances.

I found this surprising.

In the UK, if you buy insurance knowing that there is a certainty or even a strong likelihood that you will be making a claim and your insurer finds out then you will have problems not least of which is that the insurance company will involve the Police and you will have problems in buying insurance generally including mandatory motor insurance.

Suggest we park it there!

We are in the process of having the kitchen ripped out and replaced. During the planning we were asked if we wanted built in appliances. We avoided it as they said most are slightly smaller. Given there are four adults here we need full size appliances. Full size are cheaper in most cases and easily replaced, so no built in for us.
We should have thought of that when we did the kitchen, we were also persuaded that two separate ovens was a good idea, two freezers or fridges would have been a better idea. We also had polished granite worktops which magnifies any noise and need polishing a few times a day, and they cost a fortune.

We have gone two ovens, one main the other a microwave/oven. Also gone fancy with a hob with built in extractor fan and a Quooker tab ! All a bit pricey but we wanted something nice.

A failed attempt at self electrocution?

Caught the cable whilst cutting the hedge with a trimmer. This is my third time. Applied usual procedure of cutting back past the break, retinning the new one ends and fitting them back into the socket. I set up the connector the first time I cut the wire…

What made it worse was that Mrs P is WFH, so I was caught and lectured on H&S.

As long as you're on a GFCI you're perfectly safe.

This morning’s shave was a bloodbath. :(

Was using my Yaqi Adjustable when, somehow, I partially loosened the blade. I thought it was just a rough blade, until I realised what had happened. Any way, by then it was too late…

Definitely not a SOTD.

It's the spring that does this in the original Final Cut. I got some new ones more strong from AliExpress. It's the smaller ones (shorter).
