Which one is better CNC machined or MIM ?

What difference does it make?

I read some user was saying that, I'm skipping EJ 3one6 because of the MiM Process.

Should I be worried, since I have a EJ 3one6 in my rotation.

Thanks lads.

You CAN get better tolerances with CNC, less of a chance of play between top cap and base, or between base and blade.

One is not inherently better than the other, it’s the QC during manufacture that’s important.

I think some people lump MIM in with old school investment casting and see it as sloppy and cheap. In reality, MIM is a sophisticated and precise way to produce metal parts with tight tolerances at scale for much less than CNC machining. You should not be scared off by MIM.

Nowt to worry about. The 3ONE6 is a great razor and as well made as the AS-D2 by Feather.

Thanks for all the replies.

@Blackland Razors Shane, thanks a lot for the detailed explanation.
@Dave-the-rave , whew, that's a relief. thank you man.

Yes CNC can be more precise, but MIM or casting can be just as good. As long as all parts are inspected & they reject the faulty pieces there is no difference in the finished product. All of these methods requires great expertise. If you operate a CNC & don't set it up properly, allowing for wear & tear, etc you will not get a great product either. Casting is much better for brass or bronze, MIM better for stainless steel. All methods have there pros & cons, & I am still surprised that only one maker uses brass. There is a huge gap in the market between mazak & CNC machined stainless razors.

I agree. I think I actually prefer the weight of my hollow brass razors (vintage Gillettes, Fatip) to my stainless razors. I suspect the problem is that the margins end up being so much lower for hollow brass razors, so you have to sell a whole bunch of them to turn a profit. They also have to be plated, so there's an additional processing step there as well.
