Stainless Steel Muhle R41

I would definitely consider it... it will outlast the Zamak. Hopefully it shaves similarly and it is smooth.

I have two of the zamak heads and I like the lighter weight so it doesn't get head-heavy. Zamak isn't much of an issue for parts that don't have a screw thread to disintegrate.

So on both I use different top caps and handles, since these are where the threads are. Top caps are Old Type or anything else in brass, and I make my own aluminium handles. I've also used titanium handles and a Bulldog all of which work well.

Simple.

Tried to marry an Old Type cap with an R41 base and the geometry was way off. Didn't event try to shave with the thing.

Yaqis are zamak too, so no win here.

This hassle with replacement parts for an original razor is the principle reason why the idea of an all-stainless R41 is fully ripe for quite some time now.

They do actually last reasonably well, but a more durable metal would be nice.
It's a bit of a shame that the Karve top cap doesn't fit.

I tried the old type top cap today and it was alright, but I think the shave had been smoother with the Yaqi top cap.
I might have to do a side-by-side comparison at some point.
Oh well.

A zamak head and a stainless handle.

We you can't sell it as a stainless razor.
