Any chance of selling the razor brushed? The parts went for brushing last week for the first stage of finishing, and will go for the fine texturing this week.
So your saying for my early March birthday I will actually be getting the pressie I want! Excellent news, glad I asked, I’ll hold off on the Gem for now then. Is the price on the website inclusive of the stand or more if you want it? Many thanks for the update!Thank you for following up! Oh a nice Gem single edge is a hard thing to pass up!
Things are a little ahead of schedule; The machining is actually finished! A day I thought might never come. The parts went for brushing last week for the first stage of finishing, and will go for the fine texturing this week. Then some QA. I think middle to the end of February might be possible. I have taken a cautious approach on the website and said March. I will do my own QA when they are here as well so need to account for that also. I typically pull a random sample size out of the batch and go through them with all the measuring equipment and surface gauges etc. If that is all ok I can launch while I am still packing because I can't pack the whole batch at once anyway.
That is a very long winded way of saying... I might be ready in Feb, but cautiously suggesting early March should be pretty much a certainty. (Touch wood there are no last min surprises!)
Not sure if that helps make your Gem dilemma any easier haha.
Love the idea, but this is not a visual sort of brushing. It's to get a consistent basis for the final finish. I have tried brushing the whole razor before on some brass versions, and getting the finish to line up across the parts was really tricky, and had a very high rejection rate.Any chance of selling the razor brushed?
Have you decided what moves out of the den?
Still trying to move the Flexi on in preparation, maybe the Nodochi too as it’s not significantly more aggressive than the Masamune and was bought on a whim.Have you decided what moves out of the den?
