As I was pondering the other day, I had an idea. I don't know if it's a good idea, but I think I share anyway.
As Shane from @Blackland Razors, is showing the world that crafting metall has gone to a new Level. Isn't that a opportunity for other Artisan razor makers to take a step back, and look at how this could influence their way of production, especially when in need of a new workshop?
As I have said, I don't know if that is a idea that could work in real live, but in my head it sounds like a good solution for @Hone ?
Not a silly idea at all! It's always interesting to look at collaboration with others that already understand what qualities you are looking for. Even if it's just sharing advice or lessons learned. I actually read this at first as if you were suggesting building my own production; I genuinely priced up a workshop space, and getting some machinery and running it myself. (I have run CNC and milling/turning but about 10 years ago) I would find that really exciting, but for now it will have to stay a long term goal. In the meantime I have been seeking out some business coaching too for an outside perspective.

Lol if Hone is trying to avoid frustrating production delays I’m not sure they’ll want to follow our footsteps.
:notworthy: keep doing what you do. You are indeed setting the standard at the moment. I've learned from this experience that a delay is the right answer than compromising what makes your products special... and your products are some of the nicest out there!

Just a short update. After a lot of searching, e-amils, and calls (A LOT!), I have new samples from suppliers arriving by the end of the month. Don't want to get my hopes up just yet... the proof is in the pudding. But hoping to have the parts I am looking for soon.

I will get my hopes up for you! I need to complete my collection, aluminium, brass and steel!

Another quick update. First part from the new suppliers came in this morning. 3 days ahead of schedule... and they look pretty damn perfect to me.

Need to do my full battery of tests to check... But they are giving me good signals.

Yes! I need my third version in steel, which I get the feeling will be my favourite and just right Goldilocks style for me weight wise.

@Hone are they going to have the same brushes metal finish or is a polished version going to be and option. Not that that will help me as I’d likely want both!

But you don't have a titanium! SS and brass will be close in weight.
I recall the stated weight difference between the brass and stainless steel will be pretty significant.

By the way, please, NO polished version. Not a fan in terms of upkeep. Polished has a tendency to acquire small scratches. A nice brushed or matte is best (in my opinion only, of course).

Good point I didn’t think of that. Brushed it is and titanium!
