Hi mate, sorry for the delay in replying, I didn't see your message until now. I'm not good at describing soap performance, please forgive me in advance. I think it's a good soap that moisturizes very well. I lather it directly on my face and add three or four drops of water directly to the brush, continuing until I get a mayonnaise-like lather relatively quickly, and the razor glides very smoothly. It's a really good post; I'd say aftershave is almost unnecessary in my case. However, the scent is where this soap falls short. For me, the scent isn't great, not unpleasant, but it's not appealing either. I hope this description is helpful. Best regards.

I hope my English is reasonably understandable
Fantastic thanks!!!

Vintage Gillette Fanatic
First drive with my new made in England Blue Tip, and I am impressed... the hype isnt hype! A DFS shave that didn't scratch or irritate at all. This really took me back to 1984, when I learned to shave with a Superspeed TTO.

Gillette Blue Tip, FlyDear (1)
Palmolive Regular cream,Yaqi Viper 24mm boar, Brut (the clear Australian one)

The razor was cheap (for NZ anyway) - about US$18 - and isn't a pristine example. However, everything works smoothly, and the bars are straight and true.
I'm curious about the year of manufacture - there is no date code but a circled capital "i" next to the handle on the underside of the base.

No date code because it's made in England.. Only U.S versions had date codes...It doesn't appear to be the "Rocket" style version so 1955-1958 approx.. Enjoy
