Shave Lounge Closing Down?

Only made one purchase for Feathers a short while ago but without issues. It was when I was getting back into Artist Club shaves after Wintoid's thread on the same.

For people that are saying modern man are Good or Very Good. What are we talking about here?
If its one purchase and they've sent out the right order and its arrived in one piece and in a ok time frame is that good? I'd say we're setting the bar a little low if the standard service we're paying for is looked at as anything more than what we expect. Good and Very good to me are those vendors who go out of their way to help or who can help when you're looking for that one bit of something. Me paying and them shipping on time won't get a good from me. But maybe i'm a lil to snobby lol

The only real test of a vendor is when things go wrong.
I'm in agreement.

Shave Lounge and Anthony were great.
Shaving Station are great.

Hopefully I can add Modern Man to that small list of vendors I can personally vouch for.

Well at least the feedback has been positive so far.

Maybe give the vendor a chance to launch the site first?
It's been a sh#t of a year. Let's give them a fair crack of the whip first and our support.

Having used them a few times, all the transactions were swift and simple. On one occasion, I ordered some blades that arrived and then changed my mind - I wanted to swap them for a different type. Not a problem so to speak of but they were really supportive and quickly arranged the return and new order. If they provide the same level of service when something does for wrong (and I imagine they would), I'd have no problem recommending them.

I totally agree in giving them a fair crack of the whip, i've not said they're a bad vendor or been at all critical.
I want as many good vendors in the market as possible. I'm merely being realistic in seeking my peer reviews to be baselined. If people have a short yard stick against what is good and very good we're likely to jump to the incorrect conclusions. As @Cheesepiece has pointed out we won't know the true nature of the business until its tested by something going wrong.

I've had a look at the new site and have been pretty underwhelmed. It's not a patch on what Shave Lounge used to be and I think the new owners will have a uphill struggle in today's congested marketplace.
