Razorock Gamechanger

I find exactly the opposite, the PILS is very efficient and I’ve easily taken down a four-day beard with it. However - it is very angle sensitive and will only work well at the angle it likes. Get it wrong and it won’t punish you, it’ll just refuse to work. Get it right and it’s an incredible combination of efficiency and comfort. Hands down my number one.

Owing to the angle sensitivity it can take a few goes to get into the swing of it though.
As I said I only used it a couple of times. I had it on loan.
I heard the cutting angle was narrow. Maybe more time with it might had improved things but didn't like the balance of the razor or the look of it anyway. You could say my heart wasn't in it from the start.

All the razors I mentioned are loved by many but they weren't for me.

I've only used a PILS a couple of times but I found it a lot less efficient than the 0.68 GC.

I've tried of razors and the Game Changer 0.84 is right at the top along with my Paradigm, ATT S2 and Rex Ambassador...The Rex could be on it's way out though.

Timeless, too rough which ever blade gap I used.
Blackbird SB/OC: Way, way too aggressive.
Blackland Dart: Way too much blade feel, rough.
Muhle R41: Face peeler!
Karve D & E plates: Pretty good but even on the E plate I found I needed numerous passes on my neck to get a decent finish.
Wolfman Guerilla: The most frustrating razor I ever used. Ridiculously inefficient.

I could go on but I think you get the gist.

My message to you or anyone else with the GC. Call off the search. You have found the "The One".
Thank you for so detailed answer. If Karve is not brass, I would go for it, but because of that, I have think of about Blackbird. And PIls. Bit, If Pils is under GC .68, that is not for me too.
About angles and similar, I am just a lazy person, and I do not want to think about that in the middle of the shave. The same thing is with the soap, I want the hill of foam in the minute.

I've had the .84 Game Changer for three days, and I'm very impressed with it. Normally I switch to a new razor and blade every fourth day, but I like this one so much I'll try it for another session, with a different blade (the one in it at the moment is a Rapira).

Edit:
It's also a very forgiving razor. I was able to remove a small missed patch with just the thin soap left on after a first face-rinse (not something I do, normally) and the alum test revealed nothing. It's loaded with a Personna Platinum for a further three days use.

Been lost in trying out new razors (modern & vintage, new for me) for the past couple months and haven’t had this piece in the rotation during that time. Today was the day. Man, a nearly effortless 3 pass shave that was smooth and relaxing. The RR GC .84 has just about the right combination in both smoothness and efficiency. Great balance with the Super Knurl handle and grip that means business. Just a regular, non-chalant, ho-hum shave that was uneventful. When you don’t have to think about your shave and just get it done in a relaxing kind of way, it means the razor is doing its job the way it was meant and designed to do. Superbly uneventful......

The Muhle R41 gave a superb shave that nearly lasted 16 hours with just a feint hint of stubble that showed up at about 11:30 this morning. So, this evening at 7:30, the stubble was still light but it was in full mode all over. Out came the GC .84 with the Super Knurl. Slapped the same Gillette Silver Blue from last night and nothing but smooth sailing. No irritation, nics, weepers, cuts, nada. The GC is a finely made tool that will give a man an honestly good comfy and close shave. Just a smooth and clean finish that set me up for a 3 finger serving of The MACALLAN Triple Casked Scotch 12 year vintage. Just as good or better than the shave. Life is good.....

For those waiting on the latest on the Gamechanger, especially in the OC configuration, Joe at RazoRock just posted on Twitter this bit of info....

A batch of Game Changer .68-P is coming in a 7-10 days for those waiting. The RazoRock Lupo and Switch razors should be ready for sale in 15-20 days. The RazoRock Open Comb Game Changers should be ready in 3-4 weeks, both OC models will in available for the initial launch.

I saw that tweet too. Glad I held on to my GC 0.84, I think OC plates will work very nicely. Back in December, Joe tweeted about a possible 1.05 plate...would be amazing if that came out in an OC version

That's true, James..how are you getting along with the Gamechanger? Likey?
Not got it yet

Next week sometime I guess... I've not shaved since Tuesday in anticipation so am getting a bit desperate! If it's not here Monday I'll have to use something else. Also, I've been reading up more since purchase and think the 0.68 may have suited me better but I'm sure finding a swap will be easy enough if need be.
