I have the 0.84 and 0.68 GC. Given the price the build is pretty good but the polishing isn't great but then again it's not hand finished. The surface can appear slightly milky but it's not major.

The 0.84 certainly packs a punch but for daily shaving of medium dense stubble the 0.68 hits my sweet spot! :)
Interesting to hear that James, I've also read that there isn't a lot of difference between them. My .68 is efficient, but it would be nice if it was closer to the Rockwell 6c #6...

The #6 plate on the Rockwell is up there and fairly aggressive. IMO the 0.68 GC is certainly an improvement on the mild Mamba and the 0.84 is medium aggressive. Read the reviews on the 0.84 plate HERE

Not sure if RR ran out of boxes but my 0.84 arrived in a nice genuine leather RR branded pouch.

Italian Barber. Joe who owns RazorRock also owns the Italian Barber store. HERE
Be aware international shipping is high but based on weight you can usually add a few items to your basket for $24.99 delivery

The RR Game Changer is available with a choice of handles

Thanks. I've looked to order from there before, but yeah the shipping charge means it would have to be for a combined order for me.

Will keep an eye out for it coming back in stock.

Once IB have satisfied the US market they begin supplying international distributors. The Game Changer 0.68 is already available in the UK and the new 0.84 will shortly follow.

Hadn’t used the GC in a bit as I was participating in the OCtober event and got it on with some of my favorite open comb razors. Honestly though, I hadn’t shaved with the GC in over a month and tonight was the night for this smooth operator. And it delivered. Had the .84 base plate and an Astra SP installed. Just an excellent combination of smoothness & efficiency with just a touch more blade feel than the .68 version. You really can’t go wrong with either base plate as a daily shaver. But, I give the nod to the .84 as it gives me the feel and comfort that I look for in a daily. Not that I use it daily but, if I were it would be the one. Alongside my Dart and my Single Ring and my Rex and my Old Type and my......

Does anyone know if any UK stockists will eventually sell GCs with other handles? I've only seen the Super Knurl so far, but like the look of the Barber Pole or Radio Knob. As I'm pretty new to DE shaving, I'm not sure how the Mambas with different handles became available here and don't want to pay $25 for postage from the US/Canada plus possibly get hit with import tax :(

While I'm eyeing up a few new razors (GC, Fatip Gentile and Rockwell 6S), I'm holding back at the moment as I've got vintage Gillettes and a Schick Krona arriving from the US in a few days which'll keep me occupied for a few months, so willing to wait.

+1 also interested in this. I was going to order from Italian Barber but once you factor in the shipping cost and the VAT on entering the UK, you're getting up towards a £100 razor.

I recommend you contact @Anthony from the Shave Lounge. I understand he'll be stocking the Game Changer with a choice of handle.

Thanks. It's good to heard that they should be coming, but I'll hold off contacting him as I might not be looking to buy immediately. Just planning my future spending!

So in contrast to other .84 Game Changer owners, I am in the unusual position of having this as my first ever DE razor. As such, I cannot compare it to other DE razors I have used (since this is my only one so far), however I can comment on the GC from the perspective of a beginner.

Why did I pick the GC? I know the usual advice for beginners is to start with something like a 34C or a DE89/R89 and then move on to something better, but I wanted a razor not made of zamak which is more efficient for my coarse dense beard that can also tackle 48hrs of stubble as I shave every other day. I'm happy to pay extra to get a more efficient razor made with better materials to get the best bang for my buck, and from what I have read online, at present the Razorock .84 GC represents this; i.e. at its current price point ($55USD), there is no other comparably efficient DE razor made from CNC-machined 316 SS with its tight tolerances.

With the context established, I can say I am enjoying learning to DE shave with this razor. With an Astra SP and a shallow-to-neutral blade angle, it glides smoothly across my face and mows down 48hrs of growth to a near-BBS finish in 3 passes. Yes, I am making another rookie error of trying to chase the BBS sometimes, but I only try to do so within 3 passes plus a bit of touch up/buffing, i.e. not overdoing it.

Does it punish poor beginner habits (e.g. using pressure, or being inattentive to blade angle, both consequences of years of cartridge use) with the occasional weeper or two? Yes, and perhaps it is more punishing of poor technique than milder razors, but it does so without giving me razor burn or irritation. I attribute this to firstly my tough, non-sensitive skin and secondly the negative blade exposure that the .84 GC has.

The large blade gap also allows for a wider range of usable blade angles. In combination with the negative blade exposure, this has in my (albeit limited) experience made the RR GC. 84 a smooth, pleasurable beginner's razor to use that is decently efficient but also provides a steep enough learning curve to help improve a beginner's technique without being too harsh a taskmaster. Although the blade is loaded on the baseplate rather than the cap, the blade loading is easy and blades align perfectly, and at my experience level, it is good to just pop the blade on and have it align accurately without having to fiddle with another variable.

I am finding that the BBS (on the shaves I do achieve it) is lasting ~6 hrs before I can feel stubble, but I am certain that the more I improve my technique, the better the results will be.

Not sure if RR ran out of boxes but my 0.84 arrived in a nice genuine leather RR branded pouch.

As did mine, perhaps it was included as a little extra for the international shipping
