Having read a good review of the follow up - which said the original was better, I downloaded the first one from Amazon. Not for my taste unfortunately and I'd rate it no higher than 3 out of 10.John Wick: A slightly simplistic story, plenty of violence. But some great actors, and the cinematography was excellent. There were some really well-framed and beautiful shots throughout the film. 6/10.
John Wick: Chapter 2: Even more gratuitous violence — some scenes felt like I was watching a video game instead of a movie (and not in a good sense). Some good acting, several impressive stunt scenes. 5/10.
I was expecting a bit more from both of them, and if the first one was not to your taste, then you are not missing out by not seeing the second one.Having read a good review of the follow up - which said the original was better, I downloaded the first one from Amazon. Watched John Wick at the weekend as well, rather enjoyed it but I had been told it was a shoot em up, Die Hard clone. Brainless but fun.John Wick: A slightly simplistic story, plenty of violence. It's the ridiculous gear boxes that get me in that film, clearly explained by this memeFast and Furious 8.
Not my choice but Son is mad daft on cars and loves the franchise.
To be honest as entertainment, it is good fun, but so far fetched it is almost fantasy.
(Secretly enjoyed it!)
