Not entirely sure about the details, but I recall there was some controversy over one of these stainless steel versions having been polished to death. With the recent Ti model, it was stated that a polishing method would be used that would not affect the tolerances. I think it‘s reasonable to assume Andy would have used the same method for the Copper version. So, what you are getting is the Diamondback that shaves the way Andy intended it to.
I found the Ti very uncomfortable to use but have no issues with the copper.
As the machines dimensions are all supposed to be the same. I can only put my problem down to the polishing process taking too much off the cap and creating more blade exposure.
Had a similar issue with the Rex Konsul. I could see the cap had been over fettled and rounded off the edges.
A replacement was sent out and the shave was a lot better
It's one of the reasons why I try to keep away from polished razors.
The other, they are a pain to keep pristine condition
