May I ask, why do you need a shotgun?

shotguns aren’t just for hunting. Clay shooting for a start. Where I live there are a lot of farms and it’s pest control too. In fact a good few students of mine are on farms and use air, shot and 22 rifles.

And if someone kicks down your door with intent to lay waste to your family its good insurance.

I bought the twins a bb gun when they were four. We would set up cans and plastic items as targets. Two years ago at Thanksgiving we got some of the co2 powered pistols which are lots of fun to use. Now they are 14 and able to shoot well.

My pistol is a true replica of a German Luger PO8 with realistic blow back. The only problem is that it goes through the c02 cartridges quickly. LEGENDS P08 .177 BLOWBACK BB PISTOL | Umarex USA Looks like the tariffs are resulting in a 30 percent price increase. I got mine for $99.

Fortunately this isn’t a big problem around here. Not to say you never hear of it in the news reports, but really, hardly ever. I’m inclined to agree with @Vacumatic, if it’s a genuine concern, maybe buy a new steel door and door frame. I’m not saying people shouldn’t have guns, but perhaps it would be prudent to make additional efforts to fortify access to one’s home?

I was just asking a general question, why do you need a shotgun, that's all. Otherwise, I wouldn't know if @Chris is a farmer, or something that deal with protecting livestock.

Colleague of mine shoots deer, all part of keeping the numbers down and in turn ensures the health and well being of the heard. He butchers and eats the meat. Another shoots just clays.

I remember that case very clearly, I think that the farmer went to jail.

Yeah, seem to recall before he shot the one he did he was constantly having break ins and people on his property so was driven to it.
