Colleague of mine shoots deer, all part of keeping the numbers down and in turn ensures the health and well being of the heard. He butchers and eats the meat. Another shoots just clays.

Game management refers to the practices and strategies used to conserve and manage wildlife populations, particularly game species, to ensure sustainable hunting and ecological balance. It involves habitat management, population monitoring, and the development of regulations to support both wildlife conservation and hunting opportunities.

I've owned many shotguns and firearms since I was 16, but the last application was a complete pain in the arse. Even though my renewal was every 5 years, the amount of information you need to be a solicitor to fill in the application, plus the medical side and doctors involved, so after 50 years of owning shotguns and firearms, I decided to sell my rifles and not apply, I do believe the Police are trying to make it almost impossible to own any guns in the UK. Well, here's my last Firearm I sold, my Browning T-Bolt .22LR with a laminated stock and stainless steel barrel with a Wildcat moderator, that little rifle was so accurate I could put a group of 10 shots at 100yds on a ten pence piece.

Love Guru to the stars.
If I recall, his actions were thought to be disproportionate to the crime. I think they changed the law after that case, you have to show that your life or someone around is at risk and you have to state that you are armed and that you intended to fire a loaded weapon unless they desisted in their crime.

If it was me I would have lost it way before that point and just have shouted 'Cop this sunshine, boof boof.'
He was actually released from prison pretty quickly 3 years I believe because of the public outcry and rightly so.

Straight pull, interesting.

What is the length of pull, looks like you extended it a bit?

Forum GOD!
I think you forget that not everyone one lives where you do and that the laws surrounding gun ownership and their use vary greatly. Personally, I think the way it is dealt with is now either one side of the extreme or the other. God forbid that there is any common sense involved either way.

It is one thing to be prepared and another thing to be dependent upon a firearm. Choosing to be dependent upon one's skills to think clearly and act responsibly after being jarred awake in the middle of the night and be successful is a risky gamble. After all, you could have the firearm taken away from you and used against you and your family. Or, worse, you could shoot your family member think they were breaking into your house. Or,you could fire off a shot and have it penetrated a wall. However, having the bragging rights of defending yourself like John Wayne has an appeal for some.
