In my personal experience observation suggests that the practice of modern medicine has generally devolved into a profit driven industry. Individual physicians may start out with some level of concern and desire to care for the sick, but they are few and far between. And even those that may indeed start with good intentions are generally beaten down over time by insurance reimbursements and massive workloads.
Turned in to a giant sh!t show since Covid. Our surgery has gone from a busy place with loads of seating for people actually seeing a GP face to face to a ghost town. Last time I went for a blood test there were around nine chairs, all socially distanced and mostly empty. It’s all gone to telephone appointments from locum GP ‘s work for home. If you ring for an appointment it’s around six weeks to see someone and a million and one questions so they can triage on the phone.
Yes. And here again, it’s driven by money.. all these outfits need to do is to simply hire more people. Further, imo, that should be done locally. Give local unemployed folks a job rather than outsourcing such jobs to Malaysia or the Philippines.
Yes. The recorded voice tells me to do it “on the app.” It’s the easiest way to get in touch with your doctor and their team. FTS! Lemmetellyasumthn, the cr-app doesn’t work very well either.
You’re fortunate. Those days are long gone here. Now they tell you to go to an urgent care facility.
Being allowed to Build 1000 new homes and not a single new surgery is what the real problem is.
Not helped by the number of people who insist on going to the GP for a sniffle. My local GP is generally good, but I'm in the process of renewing my shotgun cert and now there's a section of the application that has to go to your doctor for them to note any mental health conditions. Despite me having been diagnosed with autism since my last renewal, which is on my medical records, the doctor had entered "NA" when they completed the form. This raised a red flag with the police who had a record of the fact that when I got my diagnosis I'd called the firearms licensing department to inform them.
May I ask, why do you need a shotgun?
shotguns aren’t just for hunting. Clay shooting for a start. Where I live there are a lot of farms and it’s pest control too. In fact a good few students of mine are on farms and use air, shot and 22 rifles.
Persistent rule breakers.
Laws were meant to help people, now they use them against us. But at the same time it's hard to get a criminal arrested.
