It invariably boils down to picking the lesser of the evils presented to you. Generally, only about half the eligible do the picking too.

After setting up our Washing Machine for a deep clean, good lady tries to reduce time of Programme, machine now locked on programme and despite all attempts cannot get it to work. I let Repair Cover lapse, so may need expensive call out. Trying local man first.
Half expect a new machine is required.

Well, best of luck.
My go to fix with anything electronic is to unplug from the mains, leave it for a few minutes. Switch it back on and go back to the former program, Drum Clean or Hot Wash and let it do its stuff through to the end of the program.
The machine will be thinking that it still has some work to do.
I made the mistake with a dish washer, not fully turning the machine off at the end of the cycle. Just wouldn't start up when I came to use it again, switched off at the mains for an hour and all was back to normal.

You can replace the whole board yourself cheaper than calling someone. Check Amazon for a replacement and it's just a few screws and plug in wires. It comes out one piece and you just put in the new one.

Reset procedure? Wouldn't work on mine, had to replace.
Our much loved local patisserie has been sold and a new baker installed. The original owner/baker was a traditional baker from France and all his offerings were first rate. Unfortunately, the offerings by the new owner/baker, whilst the same in name as before, are just not at nearly the same level quality-wise. To quote Paul Hollywood, “soggy bottoms”; to put it politely. For our neighbours and us, it’s a very sad development, as we always looked forward to our regular weekend forays to the patisserie. As well, the old baker and his wife were real characters, right out of a French novel. We miss them greatly already.

I know just what you mean.
My local bakery used to be Bettys, I have since moved away. Everything they made was brilliant and it was a Saturday morning pleasure to buy their brioche and fat rascals to take home for a leisurely coffee and read of the morning paper.
