I've been reading the blade gaps for this, trying to see which would be similar to Rockwell plate 4..... But it seems that this would be similar to the A plate. Is this a correct? From other comments or seems like the A plate is far too mild? Does anyone have both for a comparison

No, I think A would be too mild (assuming we are talking about Karve with SB plates, not open comb), only looking at blade gaps can be misleading.
I guess it depends on whether you are after the “feel” or the “efficiency” of a Rockwell plate 4....
I think Karve plate C feels similar to R3, but gives the efficiency of R4 or maybe even R5.

I have a Rockwell and used to use mostly R4 or R5 plate.
I got quite a few Karve plates, and prefer plate C SB, and plate B open comb, and I find both are great as daily shavers, and feel and shave as described above.

As always though... YMMV... especially with open comb plates, some people love them, some not so much, as I’m sure you’ve seen from these posts...

Thanks for the info. Yes, sorry I should have stated it was for the SB not the OC.
That's why I asked, a lot of people were comparing the R4 to a C plate, but the blade gap info was fairly contradictory in that respect. I prefer a milder razor, and find the 4 plate pretty good on both feel and efficiency

If you prefer milder razors, and you’re only going to purchase Karve with SB plates, I would suggest getting plates B and C then (ends up cheaper with paying shipping and taxes/ customs fee only once).

Same.
I used to favour plate 3-4 on the Rockwell but like the B plate on the Karve.
I have plate B and D. B is a fraction too mild, and D a little bit too much. I’d choose the C SB or B OC, which is why I’ve just ordered the B OC.

Good tips, because I think I prefer mild razors, but also like the eveready streamline

Anyone got a really good before and after picture of one of these - new v one with a couple hundred shaves or so?

I’m interested in seeing the change in patina after a long period of use.

Sorry if this has been posted before I couldn’t find anything of the same razor side by side

I'm still on the fence about the Karve. I'm sure the OC plates are good. It's just that lately I've been really enjoying my MMOC and 1912. Frankly, they do all I need a razor to do. Plus I have the R41 if I fancy a DE for a change. I think there's no urgency even if it would be nice. There again I might just say to myself one fine day "because you're worth it...." and do an impulse buy, as you do.

So second go with 'D' SB plate, Permasharp blade (3rd use) and amazing shave.

Could not have been anymore different from my first experience with it.

Convinced now I must have had a dud blade the first time. No change in technique or software and it was just bliss.

Is it too late to cancel my 'C' SB and 'B' OC plate orders lol!

Question to those who used the E plate, SB and OC
the E SB plate is what I most appreciated
Is the E OC plate more efficient, but more aggressive?

I have both and I would say they are about the same, just a different feel. Open Comb vs Solid Bar so just a matter of what you prefer.
