Is there a list somewhere that compares all the plates to other razors? I have an AS-D2 and fancy something a little more aggressive. What plate would compare to the Feather? I suppose the open comb of the compared plate would up the aggressiveness ...

Wouldn‘t take OC if I were taking anything under D. I compared nearly all of them and the OC lost in smoothness with little to no improvement to the efficiency. From E onwards it’s a different story, but that won‘t be of any interest to you.

I like the more aggressive plates but get a very very smooth shave from the C plate. Looking at the chart below, I would guess that A or B in SB would be a good place to start your Karve journey.

Edit: never heard this mentioned before but I really have the feeling that the brass Karve offers the smoother shaving experience when compared to it‘s stainless steel sibling.

I echo these comments.
I’ve used ASD2, I’d say B plate is a step up, but would recommend buying the daily shavers kit which has B,C and D plates, all in SB.

Maggards now sell Karve razors too...might be a better, cheaper option in regards to shipping

I think the Al Karve razors won’t be available for quite a while, still...
As far as I know, he still has to finish and ship out all/ most of the razors from the wait list from last year. There was a post on his Instagram on the 10th March mentioning he’d finally managed to get the in house anodising process and line working, and was planning to start sending out the first batch from the wait list soon.
And he wasn’t sure how he was going to proceed after that... whether he would open another wait list or just take some time to build enough stock to have them on the website, similar to the brass and SS razors.

I read somewhere that there was issues with anodising the razor, which has caused the delay.
I already have the brass (with an OC plate on the way), as well as waiting for my SS Karve to arrive so that may supress it for a while

No idea. Same as you, I just saw that post on the 10th March stating he was hoping to start shipping some razors from the first batch in a week or so...

Shortly prior to that post he started posting on Instagram again. Directly after that post his posts stopped. Not that I‘m bothered, but it‘s perhaps more than just a coincidence. Maybe something went wrong again.

Haven't used the AA plate, yet.
I'd put a Nact, Feather or Wizamet if I did. I do that in the B plate...

Just saw a post on another forum from someone who was on the list, and just got their invoice and paid for their Al Karve.
So it looks like they are beginning to be shipped out...
