I have never had one of the old-fashioned mechanical locks on my doors ever go wrong.A neighbour was showing off this door which was a 'Smart' door and could be unlocked with his phone and other devices. He was very proud and I felt like a dinosaur with my key operated locks.
His enthusiasm was short lived when he showed the door to someone else who stood outside the locked door, he opened the letter flap and shouted 'Alexa open the front door', the door locks clunked and slid back like a breech loader.
I will keep my keys.
Where did you get that???"unlock your carhole, house and vehicle from a dumb-device quick and easy..."
Just a joke we made up...Where did you get that???
Poured down here Bob, torrential rain, to the point where the gutters were overflowing. The beginning of October has been exceptionally good weather wise with daytime temps in the mid to high teens C. At 0700 this morning it was already 19C. Enjoying it while we can before it drops into the more normal temps for this time of year.

You know, I can do without that kind of rain. It runs off too quickly to really absorb into the soil and causes flooding when waterways overflow. Normally we get little of that type of rain in our area but this summer and into fall we have had many instances of it usually accompanied by very high winds and thunder storms. Also this summer and into the fall we have had only 2 or 3 days when temps were above 30C when normally we get sustained periods of a week or so in that range. The humidity levels have also remained high when normally it is hot and dry. This summer and fall have been really abnormal for us. I can't begin to imagine what winter will bring.Poured down here Bob, torrential rain, to the point where the gutters were overflowing.
Similar temperatures to yourself, around 20C north to south.

I remember visiting this glacier 35 or so years ago....and yet there are still people who deny that our climate is changing.
I was watching a TV program about the glaciers in Switzerland, the Swiss are really worried because what once was a solid slow moving river of ice is now just a lake, smaller glaciers have disappeared completely and all within the past five years
