Truly a wonderful shave today with the START .90 OC. Works well with every blade that I’ve used so far but, especially with Feather, Shark Platinum, Kai & an assortment of Gillettes ranging from the Black Ninjas, Greens, Yellows, Platinums plus a couple of others that escape me at the moment. I can’t speak enough on the quality of shaves it provides in terms of comfort, efficiency and overall ease of use. Undoubtedly an excellent tool and superb value in todays upscale modern de market. Definite winner for many......

I think it uses a standard M5 thread, so it's mostly up to your preferences.

I have no spare handle at the moment, so I will have to buy some eventually. I'm up to suggestions before buying one ;-)

Try the stock handle to begin with. The length is nice. Only possible negative is that it could be grippier, in which case I would go for something with a bit of knurling.

But like I said, try the razor first. It may not suit you at all and you‘ll have acquired additional handles you may have no use for.

How close are you guys able to shave with 0,9 plates ? I shaved only 2 times with them (1x with SB and 1x with OC) and I'm not used to the angle that shallow, which this razor need, but the closeness is somewhere around Rockwell R2 plate and even Muhle R89 was giving me closer shaves.

Very close indeed. No (strange) shallow angles needed either. I have read some guys don't find it a very close shaver though - maybe it just doesn't suit. You could try the narrow top cap that is now available?

BBS mostly on areas that aren't tricky like the jawline. Which blades have you tried with yours?

Another thing to note is that your angle has to be spot on most of the time, since it has neutral blade exposure. Except with something like a Kai blade or the narrower top cap.

I used yellow Gillette 7 O'clock. I have full kit so I will try the 1,18mm baseplate and then decide what next. I was expecting more effectivity from the 0,9 plates after reading this whole thread. That said, comfort level is really really high which I like and as I mentioned, I'm not used to the angle this razor needs - which is pretty shallow.
