Pass Around Guerrilla by Wolfman Razors

Have you tried it yourself, Paul? (I know you probably keep a low profile on products to avoid any conflict of interest, but this one you would never stock anyway, so that matter is out, right?)

I like medium-aggressive razors, I have one in my collection but I am unlikely to shave with it often. I do not get irritation or pulling from this razor but I did notice the very small window of usable blade angle. The blade feel is unique to this razor.
Its Mild but good for a quick shave, not aggressive enough for me.

So Guerilla, my impressions.
The razor is indeed well made but I'd prefer it were polished. At first, I called the handle ugly, but it looks much better in real. It's an alright shape, a welcome alternative to the usual barbershop or Gillette inspired handles.
The balance of the razor is amazing! It just feels right and I believe it was the right choice making the handle hollow. The weight of the razor is just right, feels a bit lighter than other SS razors, probably because of the hollow handle and thinner baseplate than that of Timeless or Rockwell.
Overall, it's not a bad looking razor, but I feel some handle options would be a nice addition and help it rise above mediocrity.

Had a few shaves with the Guerilla and the first thing I noticed is how greatly dependent it is on the blade angle. First pass of the first shave was very inefficient and it was quickly clear to me that I need to adjust.
Overall, it shaves quite smooth, though a bit mild for me. I shave almost every day and find this to be an acceptable razor for everyday shaving, as the shaves were really comfortable and irritation free.
Still, for my personal taste, I would prefer it a bit more aggressive. I shaved a one day growth this morning, Polsilver blade, 3 passes (including ATG), and can already feel stubble on my cheeks. Will be giving it a few more shaves but doubt I'll keep it.

As an interesting point of comparison, I have been using a Blackland Blackbird for the past two shaves and the differences between the Blackbird and the Guerrilla are striking.

Typically, I favour milder razors: I prefer the Mongoose to the Cobra, later to earlier Schick injectors, the #66 Aristocrat to the #21 and #16.

But of these two very different modern DEs, the Guerrilla would find itself in the drawer very quickly.

I'll be going for three more shaves on the Guerrilla before writing up a review and sending off at the back end of next week.

I've tried the Guerrilla with a Derby Premium, a Feather and a Personna Lab Blue. I reckon it may be slightly better suited to the latter but it could also be that I'm getting a little more acclimatised to the razor. After experimenting with angles, pressure, and length of strokes I've just shaved naturally and unthinkingly for the last two. These have probably been the two of the better of the eight shaves I've had with the Guerrilla but still little to call home about.

I really appreciate and quite enjoy the blade feel in this razor. It's held very neatly with no chatter and it feels remarkably smooth in use. The relatively slim profile of the head is also a joy and the unpolished finish of the cap and baseplate is still very smooth and comfortable on the skin. It's a comfortable everyday shaver for those who are happy with irritation-free reasonably-close daily shaves.

However, there is a slim sweet spot when it comes to the Guerrilla's optimal shave angle and, overall, I find too inefficient a razor to purchase for myself. I have not yet achieved a closeness that I am happy with from this razor and (whilst accepting user error) this is despite my using a wide range of mild razors. That said, I will keep an eye out for a real Wolfman in future as I am truly impressed by the build quality and smoothness.

There's one shave left on this blade and I've been in touch with the next-in-line to post on Thursday morning.

Hi everyone

I have just received both this razor, and the pass around asylum evolution. As such I hope you can bear with me a little, so I can have a little time with both?

I have had one shave tonight and to be honest I wasn't expecting much but I was very pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much, and the handle is bizarrely large, but I got a really good shave from it with a quick two pass first attempt. Not BBS, but not far off, and without even really trying.

First impressions are that I may like it!

Second shave down and I think i can confidently say this razor is "ok". Not fantastic (for me), but not bad. The shave was fine, but I wasn't BBS everywhere. No burn, no weepers.

I am not keen on the finish, or the handle, and too be honest it's no where near the quality of my AS-D2 or PILS, so I probably wouldn't buy one. However it's been great to try a wolfman... Just so I can see what everyone raves about.

Does anyone know if the geometry of this razor is the same as the more expensive Wolfmans razors? I believed it to be the same but just not finished as well. If so, I'm wondering what all the fuss is about???

I'll have one more shave, then pass it on.

I believe the heads are a bit different in geometry and blade gap. The Guerrilla head has a larger blade gap (.69) compared to the regular WR1 (.61). However, the former is milder, in my opinion.

I've had mine for some time now and can offer a long term opinion. I thought similar to most when I first shaved with it, a little underwhelmed to say the least. I now have dialed it in and found it's perfect blade for my face the GSB. I now am happy with the baby Wolfman I have grown to love it for what it is, a super reliable smooth shaver. I never feel in danger of nicks or weepers and if going out for the night it would be the first shaver I'd reach for. The no fuss handle suits the head in my opinion and apart from the stupid stubby pins on the base plate which makes loading and aligning the blade harder than it should be it is a cracking razor. I appreciate that if you have Desperate Dan whiskers it probably isn't for you but I like mine a lot more than I did.

Thanks for your assessment. This is a perfect example, to me, of the YMMV aspect of wet shaving. While the Pils is a cut above (no pun) the Guerrilla as far as the finish, the effectiveness of the Guerrilla far surpasses that of the Pils in my shave den, and the AS-D2, while it is a nicely done razor, is the most ineffective safety DE I've tried in recent memory. Not knocking your take on these, just pointing out how individual these results can be depending on whiskers, skin, and what have you.

I totally agree the AS-D2 seems to be one of the most divisive DEs ever! You either love it or hate it!

I guess we could probably all learn to use every razor equally well given enough practice and time, but personally I can't be arsed to put in the time!! Lol.

Used the Guerrilla for the first time yesterday

Razor - Wolfman Guerrilla
Soap - Mitchill's Woolfat
Brush - Omega 31020
Blade - 7 O'Clock Black

I found the razor to be very good I felt it wasn't too aggressive and I was able to shave in and out around my Goatee without any problems which is not always that east with a modern razor as they don't always feel accurate enough
