Just re-watched "marvellous" the made for tv Neil Baldwin biopic. One of the most heart warming stories you'll ever watch.

Recently watched Grave of the fireflies (1988) https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/grave_of_the_fireflies/

Its rare an animation (cartoon) can reduce a grown man to tears but this film manages to do just that, numerous times. Its heartbreaking and a must see if you're unfamiliar with it.

Watching “A Bridge Too Far” at the moment, remember going to watch it at the Odeon in 1978 but having to leave part way through due to electricians strike as it was the winter of discontent.

Don't waste your time on Annihilation, the books are probably good, but I found the film quite boring; in the same genre, Arrival is far better.

Watched Annihilation last night. I thought it was very disappointing.
Arrival on the other hand is one of the best films I've seen in years.

To me, Arrival was about the same as Annihilation - entertainment-wise.

Just watched a psychological thriller that was gripping from start to finish, called 'the invitation'. Well worth a watch.

Annihilation was a wasted opportunity, it just stole ideas from lots of different films.
The ending was just Body Snatchers

I dont think I'll ever watch it again, not because its bad but because I cant. In my book its one of the greatest anti-war films ever made.

I watched The Last Jedis last week. It's an OK film, but what they've done with the whole franchise is not very impressive; although, Rogue One is the most watchable to me. The franchise is taking the same path as the Marvel franchise, after a few years, people will begin to get fed up.

One thing is striking me though, in the end of the Last Jedis,

what's left of the rebellion is evacuated in the Millennium Falcon? It must be crowded in there... and don't get me start with rebel bombers, working like WWII's ones and dropping bombs vertically, in space, where gravity must be quite weak...
