Coffee Grinders

Forum GOD!
My Delonghi KG79 grinder (~£50)has decided to stop grinding, more like dumping big chunks into the bin...
I have found it perfectly acceptable up to now, grind was fine enough and looked consistent to me... The resulting coffee was perfectly acceptable.
Should I just replace it like for like?
Would I be better off with a manual?
I don't buy into the £300 grinder business in the same way I don't buy into the £400 razor business...

Thoughts?
Great little grinders, i have one myself and i find it grinds sufficiently for my use (moka pot), if it works for you personally mate, then there's no need to go and pay through the nose for a higher end one. But that's just my opinion, others may think different.

I like manual hand grinders. My main is an HG One, but I have a Feldgrind and a Hausgrind too. I've previously owned the Rossco Mini, Pharos, and Lido-E. In all honesty, the Feldgrind is good enough for me. I could probably cope with just that, especially now I stopped drinking espresso, and only drink brewed.

The golden boy of the moment seems to be the Niche Zero, but I think the Eureka Mignon is well thought of and regularly available for a reasonable price second hand. Since the Niche hit the scene, I've seen some nice grinders sold off at fair prices on coffeeforums.co.uk
I admire your pursuit of the good stuff. The best of the best. Way to go!

At the moment I have a Molino electric grinder..it does the job and it was really cheap..but the downside is that the grind size isn't really too consistent and it sounds like a pneumatic drill (noisy).
But it's perfectly good enough IMHO.

That is the grinder I was considering. You have put me off a little now... What do you mean by inconsistent? I think there needs to be some photographic evidence of the grinds produced by the various quality of grinder....

Apologies, Lee.. didn't mean to put you off. I was trying to recommend it but give a really balanced review . I would recommend it as I used it today no issues, other than the noise.
The grind is good for espresso and filter. I will try to snap some pictures of the grind tomorrow if I can..if it helps. Unless you already bought one then good luck with your choice.
