Here's a tip ...

Needs somewhere to store your attar bottles? I'll assume you've a growing collection of 3ml bottles.

Pop onto eBay and buy in some business card cases. You know, plastic cases with lids. These store 15 (3x5 rows) bottles just perfectly. Get the taller ones and you can lie down a further 5 on top.

@Steve Bowles ... not that I know of, as such. The basic scents: musk, amber, oudh, patchouli, rose, jasmine, etc are all available as fragrance oils which are used in soaps. You can find these scents in all sorts of soaps. Specifically Arabian? Well, there's Persian Musk from Vulfix. It's very light though and nothing like the black musk attars.

@Ash ... I gather Surrati looked at Montale's range for their inspiration on that one and a few others.

Too bad there aren't any dedicated Attar shaving soaps; I'd love to smell like the Arabian Nights, but I'm sure I'd wind up smelling like Osama Bin Laden.

Actually, I suppose there's all that Crabtree & Evelyn gear: Indian Sandalwood, Leather Musk, Moroccan Myrrh, etc

Is till stronger than the oil I have got on it from the bike.
Smashing.
Truth is I was hoping for my new arrival but the posty has been and no presents :(

Today it's Sahara Rose by Fragrance of Arabia. The notes described as, Famous rose from Sahara with a fresh citric edge, Sandalwood, white musk, enveloping amber. Long lasting and perfect for everyday use. For the first hour it has a slight burnt plastic smell but that disappeared .

Any shaving soaps with an Attar base?
Not perfect matches but soaps that hold their own very well when using altars on top are the following:
CRSW Sandalwood - black musk/ Royal oud
Reef Point Fougere Santal - Majmua
D. R Harris Arlington/CB LTV- Jannat Al Firdaus
Wickhams 1912 citrus musk/Tiki the Captain/PAA Chocolate Bourbon- Virgeen Islands

The problem for me is that the only place I go during the day is either Sainsburys or to my fields to tend the horses and pick up poo. Fragrances are the last thing my horses, or the self-service till, remark upon. I wish this jihad crap never happened because the mystique of "Arabia" is still very strong -- if you don't think about the gazillionaires all over the place.

Mukhallath Molook arrived today, billed as a ready sibling to the Amouage oil of the same name - it's Taifi Rose, Cambodian & Hindi Oudh and Ambergris. It's oudhy alright, but that initial farmyard moves aside quickly making way for a delivery of heady woods. The rose is slight. Slight, not light. It's there, but it's not a star player until later on when the woods die down. Ambergris is something I don't know a pure scent of, but I guess it's in there to pack an animalic punch.

It's a nice blend. No the best to my nose, but good. It'd be fun with some Lily to round out some of the pungency.
