I think I remember you saying you wanted gel tips, but it’s good to hear you’re still happy. For me, I like some good scrub on my brushes, so I’m not exactly crazy about gel tips, even though I have many of these and can certainly see the pleasure in using them from time to time.

Mine arrive on Friday, I’ll give my feedback then!

I think I could have made an error in my earlier statement, it is cloud soft, it felt gel like on the later passes and it only had a short pre soak. But first few uses, human error etc

Cloud soft sounds wonderful, but what I wanna know is, will it beat my Chubby 2 manchurian :) Very exciting, waiting on them to arrive!

Updated picture after two lathers. The first was using Tabac bowl/hand lather to clear out any odor. To my surprise the knot had very little odor so I decided to give it a run this morning with Jabonman Citricos.

First shave impression:

Knot - Felt great on my face. For me not super soft tips but no scratchiness; perfect backbone for face lathering; good density,
Lathering - Excellent. I was able to whip up good, thick lather with both the Tabac and Citricos with little effort.
Handle - I have small hands so the ergonomics are good. The handle shape and taper is perfect for me. Nice weight since I prefer a little heavier handle.
Outlook - I only see this brush/knot getting better with use. It will definitely be used every 3 days or so (want to give it plenty drying time).

A winner and I can't thank Bernd enough for engineering and producing this brush. My desire is that others who purchased this brush like it as much as I like mine.

After 4 uses this brush has only slightly begun to bloom:

A lovely mushroom shaped bulb knot. The tips are definitely not gel like. They are cloud soft and extremely plush. No scratch or scritch at all, you do feel the hairs when scrubbing, feels like a cloud when painting. Brilliant face feel, as I prefer a brush to have hair feel and feedback as opposed to a wet glass feel.

I have noticed approx 10 inverted hairs within the white upper band, however these are not felt on the face when in use. The tips are not crispy when dry, they remain cloud soft. They are however starting to hook at the ends.

Love the wooden tray. This brush is really something special.

Bernd had warned me that my group brush was somewhat gregarious and refused to travel alone. Thus, I was forced to buy two more brushes and a brush stand to accompany it on its travels. Well the happy family arrived this morning. First impressions of the group brush (26mm unique bulb) are that the tips are very white and the brush, as a whole, is really well proportioned. It does not have the density of the DO1, which I bought a year or so ago, but I have an inkling that this may help with the flow through. The finish is excellent and there is no scent yet, although it is still to see water. Thanks to Nishy and the design team and Bernd for executing the designs.

To avoid thread drift, I will post pics and comments on the other two brushes in a different thread, but I do like the look of the ebonite and the flat top.

Spot on with your synopsis my friend. The Unique knot doesn't exhibit a difference in density, only type of hair used. It makes use of longer white portioned hair. Saying this Bernd usually gives us a little extra in knot size as well as the discount.

When you have used the flat top or extreme knot please let me know, as I think it may be ideal in terms of backbone for you :)
