dammit you! i had a few shaves and did not notice anything in performance. After reading this i was looking at blade alignment and yes ther is small movement on loading the blade as the gap of the razor blade hollow is a bit larger then the pins. Now ODC kicked in! Hope it will pass, as the shaves have been good without having this knowledge.

I don't understand how you can NOT align the blade correctly. I never had to check anything in any of the high end CNC machined razors I've had, probably dozens of them. I generally just through a blade in, screw and shave. Unless it's a fatip, or the DScosmetic Z0 more recently. There should be NO play (or very little play) between pins and holes before you do up the handle. Otherwise all that talk about tight tolerances is just BS.

the stainless outlaw has no problem shaving with even if the blade is not aligned. And by alinged i mean you have to make a close inspection under light or white background to notice the extra light from the drain slots
. The problem with this ODC alignment issue can easily be solved by pressing the blade in the top cap, puting the base plate over and hold it pressed while you screw the handle.
With all due respect, some errors above. Firstly how the Gentleman hasn't cut his fingers (above video) when loading the razor (unless the blade is a dummy) is beyond me. Secondly I never place a polished razor head, flat on any hard surface full stop, to avoid it being scratched. OCD point: the background screen needs to be shifted to the right or camera vice versa. The posts comment eludes me as several razors have shorter posts, even shorter than the Alpha offering (e.g. ATT). Lastly in the video, contrary to the comment above the Gentleman claims he sliced his face when the blade was aligned wrongly?
Just observations, not knocking Alpha products just critiquing the above. I would be looking for zero play as is the case with other SS razors at this price.

My Outlaw aligns the blade spot on every time.
I used it yesterday and had a cracking shave with
a Feather blade.

It will be like this always and forever. You will hear it whenever you will shave. The razor has the loudest blade feedback, maybee ever.
By the way: how was the end result of the shave?

The result was an amazing shave by the way...it’s just annoying because is a great razor in my opinion

I have an outlaw mild, purchased in February from Brian. I can confirm it doesn’t align correctly and it is something you have to work for to get the razor blade perfect, the reason for this is how the razor was designed the pins in not showing under the base plate, they wanted to go with a neat finish which is good, but to have solved this issue if the pins was longer it would align the blade every time automatic with no issues by holding them, in my experience theirs too much tolerance for the blade to wiggle around and this is what causes the misaligned blade for me, yes every time I use the razor it drives me mad, but all in all a few extra minutes to get it solved isn’t the end of the world. Many respects. J.

the alignment issue is due to the pins being a little to narrow compared with the blade gaps for support. Once you push the blade in the top cap it is alinged. Just need practice holding the blade pushed down while puting the top cap and screwing the handle in position. I usually press the blade with my fingers in the top cap, then hold the blade and top cap with my fingers from the sides while pushing down the base plate. Once it is in place is hold the 3 elements squeezed in place and screw the handle.

don't know if it could be catalogued as a defect.
If ever a version II comes in it should take in consideration wider pins to fit perfectly with the blade cutouts and definitely move the lines of the low cap more to the edge of the cap for less blade chatter.

Had my first shave with the Outlaw razor this morning, no issues with blade alignment and the shave was fantastic. I used a NOS Gillette Super Silver blade and the shave was super smooth and efficient. I found the shaving angle really easy to find and quite similar to the Blackland Dart which is one of my favourite razors.
The Outlaw doesn't have as much blade feel as the Dart but still has enough to give you some feedback as you shave. No nicks or weepers from the shave and didn't have any fear of any, this razor just feels super smooth. Really impressed overall.
