Your coffee brewing method

I go to the local garden centre which makes the most fabulous cappuccino ever using fresh Brodies of Edinburgh beans. As for brewing it myself, I occasionally have a Tassimo job and they all taste pretty much the same to me. Have enjoyed a Moka pot in the past and every now and again, out comes the filter machine but usually I'll opt for tea instead.

For me, Gaggia classic and an iberital coffee grinder. One the move/camping/walking/holidays I take a handpresso with me! I do like my espresso coffee 2 a day generally!!

French press works great for us. I haven't got the energy to be a coffee hobbyist so I use ready ground fair trade espresso from Morrisons. Makes a great cup of wake up juice.

Same for me. No more than two espresso's per day from my Franco machine and no caffeine after 4pm.
Anything more I get real cranky and can't sleep.

I have seen people talk about the aero press, but I don't know what the benefits are with it??? Can anyone explain the benefits???

Would love a bean to cup machine, but will wait until I've had a small lottery win!!! Lol.

Hi, the aero press is like a giant syringe. Benefits are that you are using pressure and a filter so you get a stronger cup of coffee with little or no grounds left. The pressure forces the coffee through the filter just like an espresso machine but with a lot less pressure but more pressure than a French coffee press

Thanks The Franco is made here in the UK so repairs and servicing is easy. It also works on a heat exchange system which is better that an tank heater.

Southampton is a hard water area and Franco recommend using filtered water. I also backwash every three months. element tank machines tend to build up more calcium deposits. Three years on and never had a problem. I'm pleased I paid a little more for a heat exchange machine.

Same here on the cleaning for me every 4/6 months is a descale with back flush every 2 months else we get into trouble...about the only thing I do is to use boiled water to fill the tank every other fill but it is still a faff!

Aeropress for me, usually with Rave signature blend, but I'm on Taylor's of Harrogate Italian at the moment and liking it.
