Razor: Yaqi SS Mellon
Blade: GSB (1)
Brush: Oumo 26mm HMW
Soap: P&B Right Handed Giant
First use of the Yaqi Mellon. It's a very well made razor head with good polishing.
The shave was easy but I picked up a bit of irritation on my neck. I need to dial this razor in a bit more. If I could currently change one thing on it, it would be to make the teeth a little more comfortable.

Try using a blade angle that's so shallow that you can only feel the teeth of the top cap. That should help.

Thanks Chris. I've already had the opportunity to try it before and quite liked it, but ended up slightly preferring the Colibri 1.5 I already owned, particularly when I used a shim sandwich. Well, except for the silly amount of tab exposure on the side.What a generous pass around Peter @slapo I have the Yaqi Sentinel. Very nice shaver . PM me if you want to try it
I am now tempted to try the Dscosmetic AX 1.55, which looks like similar to the Sentinel, but I'll probably wait until it's on sale before getting one (if I'll be grabbing one).
I am quite tempted to get the Yaqi Bohemia now, though.

Final shave with the Mellon. A tiny bit of irritation on my neck where I wasn't paying attention and defaulted to a steep angle. Very nice in use when paying attention with a shallow angle.
Thank you @slapo for the opportunity to try this razor. Will I buy one? I'm not sure. They're currently on offer but I have a lot of razors. If the den wasn't so densely populated, I'd probably pick one up.

You could always try the base plate and/or the top cap with other such parts you have before sending it on.

That's the fun thing with frankenrazors - finding things that match fairly well.I'm quite anal with things pairing. If they don't match, it eats me up inside

1st try with the Mellon.
I found thus razor pretty aggressive on my first try and ended up with some nicks and irritation.
Going to need to rest my face for a couple of days before trying again with a different blade.
Looks wise I really like it. Not too heavy. Nice balance.
Not sure this is a razor I would purchase. Will give it another try though.
