Is a Soft Soap really a Cream? How I define Soft is if I can push my Finger in a Soaps, and leave an impression.

Here’s how I see it. Hard soaps (MWF, DRH, etc.) are like hockey pucks, hence the term “puck of soap”. Creams are mushy and you can squeeze them out of tubes or glop them with your fingers out of a tub. Soft soaps are malleable and like you say you can push your finger in and impress the pants off ‘em These are croaps.

If you can scoop a 6.35mm wide by 6.35mm deep dollop of the soap / cream with a 1.25mm thick by 7.5mm wide standard PET spatula at 25ºC, then you have a cream.









I just made that up, but I think we do need an objective standard.
