Yeah I come from the North West where we mainly had cotton mills. Kids were employed to run under the looms and machines to fix stoppages. Missing limbs and breathing conditions were some of the joys to be expected

There used to be a TV series on Amazon called The Mill which was a fascinating watch. It was set at Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire where you can still visit and see the machines working. The noise!!!
The TV show is very good if you like history...

Britain's Princess Kate climbs 3 mountains in 24 hours for charityCompleted the 3 Peaks challenge yesterday afternoon. Didn’t manage it with the 24 hours - it took 35 as we had a large group and a mix of capabilities but we enjoyed the challenge- even the appalling weather on Scafell Pike (passed Princess Katherine on our way down as she and her team were climbing near the start and warned her about the shitty weather at the top
I was reading about this the other day. It’s the 400+ miles of driving it involves that I hadn’t reckoned with. It’s quite something all in.
