Yeah I come from the North West where we mainly had cotton mills. Kids were employed to run under the looms and machines to fix stoppages. There used to be a TV series on Amazon called The Mill which was a fascinating watch. It was set at Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire where you can still visit and see the machines working. The noise!!!
The TV show is very good if you like history...
