Followed your advice and ordered a Samsung. a little more expensive than the LG which was my other choice but the staff at the local TV shop were impressive and also recommended Samsung. I have had great results with Panasonic but I have heard that they are pulling out of the UK as a market. Delivery, set up and removal of the old set all taken car of.

Not sure if I’ve been scammed or if it was just a mistake. Let me explain.
Yesterday I bought 2 sympathy cards from a paper shop in a nearby town. Paid by card and thought no more about it.
This morning I had a message from Mrs P asking if I had spent £57 in that paper shop. Obviously I said no. However, the bank account showed a payment of that amount.
I hightailed it back to the shop to investigate. When I went in, it was a different woman behind the counter who actually knew me. (I used to work near by and was in the shop a lot.)
She was horrified when I explained what had happened. She wasn’t able to sort out the refund on my card but said if I go in tomorrow morning when the owner is there he will expedite it. I know the chap so I’m sure it will be fine.
On hearing who had served me yesterday, the lady was a little uncomfortable. This is what made me curious.
Was I scammed or was it just incompetence?
Will I ever know???

I would phone your card provider and just check it out.
By coincidence on Monday I bought a TV over the phone, the retailer was incompetent but thats a different story. Paid for it by card. They delivered the TV today, I had paid extra for fitting and setting up but the fitters said that they didn't know what to do, I sent the TV back and phoned them to ask for a refund which they agreed to. Looked at my online statement and it showed that I had been charged twice, of course I was as mad as hell. Especially when no one answered the phone at the shop. Called the credit card company and they said because it was Pending anything could change and they thought it was a credit although that is not what my screen said.
Can I assume that your sympathy cards cost £5.70?

Yeah I noticed this too today but decided against raising itDiesel's now at £2.05 a litre at my local filling station.
I’d have to ban myself if I posted further thoughts on the matter.

Did you get a receipt? If the receipt has the correct amount on it, they would have to run it again to get more, that would be a deliberate crime.
