Cheers mate! I was going quite fast - its at the bottom of a long and steep hill, and the temptation to make the most of it is huge. Not any.more though. Time to accept that at 56 years, slowing down a little may be in my long-term best interests!

A rider of vintage motorcycles gave me a tip, it is not about the destination it is enjoyment of the journey.

...but I know what you mean, there is a hill near my home, at least half a mile and downhill all the way, I have to use the brakes on my bicycle to stop it overtaking cars.

Good point - my destination was work, so I have no idea why I was in a rush to get there...

Gravity is a cruel.mistress indeed - tempts us with speed, till we have more than we can handle and then brings us crashing down!
